Monogatari Order
Added 2025-06-08 12:36:58 +0000 UTCHi guys,
As you know yesterday we made a mistake and watched the first episode of the Sengoku arc, and we noticed that some of you suggested we continue with the arc and then watch Hana.
We genuinelly intended to start Hanamonogatari after the first two arcs, but after we watched the first episode of Otori we noticed that a lot of you are suggesting we continue it, as we might be unable to connect the points and comprehend Otori if we drop it now and pick it up later again.
Feel free to vote on how you want us to proceed. And also if the "Start Hana" option wins, we will rewatch the 1st episode (off Camera) of Otori to refresh our memory, so you don't need to worry about us forgetting it.
Sorry for messing up guys we genuinelly feel bad, we hope it doesn't ruin your experience too much. We'll be more careful from now on. Sometimes it's hard to not go next episode. 😅

Tweaking out over basically nothing rn tbh. Most ppl prolly thought "well they already started otori" and were fine with it, which is fully reasonable. Chill lol

2025-06-09 20:46:59 +0000 UTCThis poll has genuinely black-pilled me toward the critical thinking of this community. At the time of writing this there's 57 votes with 88% towards finishing Otori. It is laughable to me that Hana in the middle of S2 won the initial poll, but then this outcome here is so overwhelmingly in the opposite direction. If you have thoughts or opinions on why it should go there then you should stick to them, and if you don't you should just shut up, voting for the sake of voting doesn't make sense. Do you also vote on polls related to shows you've never seen before? Novel order elitists insist that Hana should go in novel order because of the thematic meaning that it has for the series. Or that it makes more sense to have it in novel order because (the more dull take) "this is author intent." I can just about guarantee that most of the "novel order" gang probably don't actually have a legitimate take on what literary theme/device is being explored that actually is conducive of a novel order viewing. Or if you do feel that way, it's such a minute feeling that it can literally be over-ridden by a mistake. Honestly, this seems like Reddit logic at it's absolute extreme. Instead we should push for some order that doesn't exist because it literally makes no sense.

2025-06-08 23:54:29 +0000 UTCPeople always say that it is best to follow the order of the novel because of author's intention. But I have read every volume of Monogatari series and watched anime more than 3 times. There are many differences between the novel and the anime in details. So, blindly following the order of the novel is not the best. Hanamonogatari should be watched at the end of the second season.

2025-06-08 19:09:26 +0000 UTCSince you have already started watching Otori. Why not just watch the second season with release order? Otori-Hana-Oni-Koi...This is the worst.
