2025-05-05 08:27:06 +0000 UTCSo I know you’re on the next season and some people have mentioned this to an extent, but since I’m only halfway through the first season with your reactions and don’t have a subscription to see the newer reactions, I want to say it here, and I hope you see it. This entire show is told from specific character’s perspectives. Most of the show is from our main guy’s perspective, but occasionally it’s from other people’s. And that doesn’t just affect how characters are portrayed, it’s literally everything. The tone, the art style, music, background, aesthetics, everything is based off perspective. An example is the world. The reason you never see people around besides the main characters is because Araragi doesn’t pay attention to most people. The show only shows the people he cares about. The reason the architecture is crazy sometimes is because it’s an exaggeration of how he feels in the environment, from endless staircases to construction sites that seem to go on forever, it’s all his interpretation, or whichever character is currently telling the story. The way adults aren’t properly shown or colors being dramatic and saturated, the entire world is a reflection of perspective, and when the story switches narrators, you can feel the style of the show shift into a different type of storytelling. Some narrators are more reliable than others, some lie, some stretch the truth, some exaggerate, and some are very honest. Some of my favorite parts of this show is when someone else becomes the narrator for a handful of episodes. And you’re both so fucking hot.

2025-04-30 08:45:27 +0000 UTCremoving Oshino is one of my favourite narrative decisions - Monogatari is SO character centric so it's pretty risky to just remove a main cast member, but it really allows the show to go down a more mysterious route without the specialist who can see through everything.

My first thought was Russian, but you guys don't look like from there, so my 2nd guess was probably some other country that uses cyrylic, and I guess I was close, if youtube channel info is correct. Either way, I really like the strong "r" pronunciation and I admire the skills of the spoken English. I know the language decently well, but I can't speak it at all... When I try, it just sounds like some mummble jumble. As for Monogatari reaction itself, the next part, Kizumonogatari, is probably my favourite arc, altough there are a few others that come almost on a equal ground with it.

2025-04-05 20:39:00 +0000 UTCYall might know by now but Almost all the Monogatari openings are sang by the voice actor of the main girl of the arc, they even play a different version of it at the high point/end of their arc. They are even completely written for the arc and as the episodes go on the lyrics start to click, if yall want to check them out it would be cool but it's up to yall.
