You guys totally missed that the old mans warning about adding a new bloodline was directed to Jinshi and not the emporer.

2025-06-18 21:36:22 +0000 UTCMaomao speculated that Jinshi was swapped, but it hasn't been proven. However, if the anime shows it, you will find a compelling reason why the old emperor might be his father. Probably in the next episode.

Also isn’t the old guy in the flashback, jinshi’s grandpa, as jinshi is the current emperors son not brother, and this old person is the now emperors dad so, isnt it Old guy-Emperor-Jinshi, considering they are all fathers to the latter one, or am i still getting twisted in my own thoughts 😭

2025-02-22 01:52:12 +0000 UTCSo, for Nesa's question at the end. If the light novel has any more detail, it is pretty minor, in my opinion. Nothing stands out to me that they have missed. There has been a lot of foreshadowing, but I don't want to spoil anything. As for the Jinshi flashback. The old man is Jinshi's father (the emperor). The old woman is the Empress Regnant (regnant means that she was the ruler and not the old man). The younger woman, who looked at them both with hatred was Anshi, who is currently the Empress Dowager (dowager is a widow, meaning she was married to the old man). So, the young woman gave birth to both the current emperor and Jinshi. The reason that I was looking forward to this episode is because I'm colorblind myself. I remember thinking while reading the light novel that I would hate that test since you had to pick colors. Only to be rewarded with the very real chance that i would have gotten it right due to my colorblindness. And yes, I have very exceptional night vision. At night if I get out of bed for any reason, i never turn on lights because I can see enough to navigate and turning on the lights temporarily blinds me.
