22:40 "This is the weirdest first episode I have ever witnessed in my life." So what you are saying is that you have never watch FLCL. Understood. :)

Chillih trying to string together the timeline in the episode at the end is like trying explain to your friends what happened when you were out drinking last night, im dying

What's the chord progression? C, G, Em, Am? I'm a guitar beginner so I'm interested to learn.

The animation studio is Science Saru. They're a fairly small studio, though they have earned a lot of praise and some awards around the world, but they were bought out by Toho earlier this year. Toho's been around since the 1930s and has a ton of money to throw at their work. So, yes, you're right that it's a fairly small anime studio, but they have big business bank accounts backing them up on Dan da Dan.

The turbo granny is voiced by Luffy's VA from One Piece, the aliens are Zoro from One Piece as well and Ken is voiced by Tanjiro's VA from Demon Slayer. Insane cast for a first episode

Glad im not the only person who gets an uncontrollable rush of dopamine and urge to dance from the opening. It's on every morning, hard to have a bad day with that in the morning. The chord progression on the guitar in the chorus is as close to magic as you get.

Takakura Ken was a Japanese actor who starred in hundreds of movies, mainly as a delinquent or gangster type of tough guy. He won Japan's highest acting awards more times than anyone else and recieved honours from the government. He is affectionately known as Ken-san (mr. Ken). I think he died fairly recently.

Thanks for the info!!

Her friend looks like that because she's in ganguro or yamanba style make-up, I forget which after all these years. Ganguro and yamanba are subsets of the gyaru (gal) subculture which are apparently making a bit of a comeback recently. They were biggest in the early 2000s as far as I recall. Gofer is a bit of English slang. It means "dogsbody". The lowest rank who gets sent to do all the menial chores. That sort of thing. They are always being told to go get stuff for other people: go for this, go for that, etc. "Go for" was shortened to "gofer".

hahaha

This is just a show about bananas

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

Yes, he has the same name as a machi actor that she likes. She, and her friends are what is known in Japan as gyarus. They are influenced by western culture.
