23:30 I agree with Chillih. I think that Lakan blames himself. He literally was berating himself while running to Verdigris House for only thinking about Go and Chess and not considering what Fengxian was saying about the deal falling through. Don't worry about thinking bad of Lakan. The anime wanted you to think that way and they guided you to it. I think the majority of us were tricked. As for him not being able to differentiate faces. This isn't stated in the novels, at least that I've seen, but I suspect that Lakan is autistic. That is hereditary and would explain Maomao's own trouble with understanding emotions. Did you notice that the granny hit Lakan so hard that she broke the broom?
