The only way to make it into Valhalla is to die as a proud warrior on the battle field and its their highest honor. Also at the end, the reason why they hate christians is cause, when Norway was united, Harald did it by forcing christianity on everyone. And if they wouldn't become christian they was expelled out of the country or just downright killed. Which is why iceland today still speak old Norwegian like the vikings did, from so many fleeing over there, while our Language in Norway became more and more mixed with danish and are now completely different from icelandic. Sorry for the long wall of text :)
