Nesa pointing out the symbolism of the clock tower, time, as the only thing standing between their mutual love, was a beautiful detail I never put together. Chillih mentioning how Himmel may have never expressed to Frieren directly (in words) because he didn’t want to hurt her in the long run is an interesting speculation I also never considered. I could be wrong but I personally interpreted it as he believed she wasn’t ready/needed more time to learn and understand more about people and emotions to truly be in love; the only cruel and beautiful way for them to be in love is to eternally piece together their one sided feelings for each other across both directions of time into a whole. I think he understood on some level if she did grow to love him, it wouldn’t be for some time, so forcing the issue would be pointless. The result being his gentle and accepting unrequited love (during his lifetime) :’(. I do hope we get his explicit thoughts on the matter at some point in a flashback! Anyways, I also enjoyed the reactions and thoughts about this episode. As for Fern and Stark, JUST DATE ALREADY!!!! Haha <3
