[Early Access] "Why Can't You Look At Me?"
Added 2024-03-13 23:25:29 +0000 UTCThe year is 1897. A mob planning to eradicate all non-humans in the vicinity have discovered your location, forcing you and Dontis to flee from danger. But in your time of hiding, many things emerge that neither of you expected.

To say I had a lot of fun with this audio is an understatement! I had a great time writing, recording and editing, and I'm quite proud of the atmosphere I created this time round. There's so much to explore with Dontis as a character, and instead of sticking to one time period where events can't allow for another part, I thought it best to delve deeper into his backstory.
This was also the audio where I changed up the script format, and I definitely wrote way more than I usually do!
I want to create more audios like this, so we'll see what will be explored from here on out.

I'm starting to think Dontis, or maybe incubi in general, is the most sought after supernatural because why is it that everytime we run into him, he's always running away from something, being hunted, or locked up. Like jeez, can he not catch a break? No wonder he's not comfortable settling down, the dude has never been given that luxury.🥺🥺 But honestly, he’s always on the run and the fact that his horns alone would be compensation enough in lieu of him being dead is concerning to say the least. I mean, we at least haven't heard of any other supernatural body parts being sold on the black market, so I'm going to assume incubi horns are one of the more valuable items that you can sell/buy. Which is sad because it makes me assume that Dontis’ lifestyle of always being on the run isn't unique for an incubi. It also puts into perspective the difference between incubi and other supernaturals, mainly vampires. I think it was mentioned in an audio that vampires are the most sought after creatures but it seems as though it's incubi that are mostly captured. Kinda puts into perspective the difference between the 2 species and how they live their lives. Incubi are always on the run because they are repeatedly captured while vampires, while still suffering the same fate, are able to put down roots because they're powerful enough to protect themselves. And in the midst of being given such a shit hand at life, Dontis is still such a damnable good person. The altruism and compassion in him is INSANE. Repeatedly trusting people and repeatedly getting betrayed just to start the cycle back over with no ill will towards anyone. I could NEVER. He's honestly way too good for this world, which is all the more reason why I want him to have peace and get a happy ending. He's too good of a person to die tragically, but then again this guy is always playing the hero. Always volunteering to be a sacrificial lamb. Like please stop and pick your self-preservation off of the fucking floor 😭😭. This guy is a lover not a fighter so he should not be on any battlefield. Send him home IMMEDIATELY. But him mentioning his dark past…I am curious what that actually entails because my mind is reeling with all types of scenarios. Given that he can't even talk about it, I'm guessing it's something inline with what I'm thinking, which is just heartbreaking.💔😭 Yeah, Dontis is better than me fr. There would be NO compassion/understanding if it was up to me. However, I will say that it is commendable and noble that he's trying to break this cycle of hate. He's so accepting of death if it means that he can save one person or aid humans in becoming more tolerable of supernaturals. He is so down for the cause and he's very much a supernatural activist, and we love that for him 🥰😚 Speaking of heartbreaking, it would be pretty crazy if the same hunters coming after him are the ancestors of the hunter that he later meets and falls in love with. Talk about the irony 😬😬. I'm pretty sure Dontis wouldn't give a shit if he found out but it's still pretty twisted. I'm not even going to talk about him casually taking off his horns. No idea how he did that with minimal pain. Aren't they embedded in his head/cranium? They gotta have blood vessels and nerve-endings so how is he so casual about it? Unless he's used to the pain…😤🤧 All in all, he was able to change the listener's perspective by just talking so maybe he can yap his way out of the situation he's in with Xanthus. He may yet just survive…hopefully. 🥹🙏

My heart wrenched at the fact that listener (wolf I guess) worked with the hunters to capture Dontis but in the end spared him and let him go🥹. W listener and the woman that took care of Dontis. Dontis reallllyy needs a huge hug (maybe more than a hug tbh) he's been through so much trauma. I went 😟 when he removed his horns lmaoo. But anyways, thank you saku for sparing us another Dontis audio! Truly intrigued and glad that we got more lore crumbs (probably a loaf of lore at this point lol) for Dontis and his past. Big props to ya~🤎✨
