The annual bitcoin free-money trades are back

Every year this happens, and it just keeps going up. Every year I think "this will be the final rally I can't possibly buy here", and then it goes up more. I'm about ready to put all of my savings into it, and that moment will be the generational short signal. I'll let you guys know when I decide to.

Potentially it all depends on the prices you get

Does this work with Kalshi as well??

Yo sorry just saw this glad you enjoy! I think that sounds like a good idea and how you structure it really comes down to personal risk preferences. Sort of like figuring out whatever payoff structure you like best and doing that. For example I've realized doing the full trade is hard and costly, so I just take the Polymarket leg and accept the variance.

Great video! How do you feel about setting the spread slightly lower in order to set up the double-whammy (your No contracts pay, and your spread hits max), as well as some correction protection, though at a slightly higher premium?

Finally more content! I’ve found you from youtube and wanted more from you

Glad you enjoy! The hedging is for the situation where IBIT gets above 71, and the market is not open or the spread hasn't hit its max profit despite the market being open (likely). The hedge locks in that intrinsic $1/share profit, protecting you from the situation where BTC breaks 125k, the Polymarket leg loses (as its payoff depends on BTC hitting 125k at any point before month end), but then BTC drops before the call spread's expiration and you lose on the call spread and the Polymarket bet. There's a chance if BTC rips through 125k, the spread would hit near enough to max profit that you'd be able to get out for most of the profit, but you wouldn't be maximizing it, and Bitcoin is so volatile that I'd be scared to do that without having a plan to hedge in the event I needed to. It's complicated because the 70-71 spread is the closest thing in IBIT to replicating the 125k Polymarket bet, but not perfect. It's actually slightly favoring us in the trade, because the call spread will hit it's theoretical max profit before BTC hits 125k (IBIT @ 71.40), so there's a chance the spread hits its max intrinsic profit (IBIT @ 71) you hedge, BTC dies from there for the rest of the month, and you earn the max profit on the spread as well as the Polymarket NO shares. I just took the Polymarket leg to avoid complication lol.

Hey the video was struck unfortunately. Here is a link to the archived one. https://web.archive.org/web/20231123102613/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGNRIRoG9mI

Is the hedging you are talking about only for the portion between 124.25K and 125K? Would you just close out your position at max profit assuming the trading day is open and bitcoin breaks 125? You would need to keep a delta neutral position until the next trading day not until expiration. Thank you for providing such a cool and well explained video!

Can you post the video you did on selling options here? I think it was about that optionsellers.com video. Idk why you took it down I thought it was great and I wanted to try developing a strategy from it

Thoughts on OPEN?

.

In Europe we have easy access to barrier options. I have to check if it's profitable tho.
