2025-03-29 16:03:42 +0000 UTCHey Ben idk how cool but have you ever looked at the Trading Card Game makets? Both in the actual cards and or the companies that make the games. How about other good entertainment sector centered trades?

2025-03-22 21:07:51 +0000 UTCAlso I think for that kind of hedge there's really no way around the fact that it's gonna be a huge drag on the returns from all the stuff you're long.

2025-02-22 17:55:09 +0000 UTCHi, I don't think I necessarily have any good answer for you. Basically it's just a cost and risk tradeoff at each point. The more you pay for the puts the more it'll cost but the more you'll be covered. The more you adjust and roll the puts to the specific hedge you want the more it'll cost but the more you'll have the specific hedge you want.

2025-02-22 17:50:37 +0000 UTCHey Ben! I am like 80% sure there would be ~30%+ s&p drop which it won't recover for a while in the next 2-3 years, what is the best strategy to hedge it? I don't want to earn money here, just protect my investements from total market drop losses. Idea is to lose a little money every year unless drop is 10%+, in which case it would help me against my losses. Currently I've bought XSP May16'25 500 Put@1.99 when it was 45 days away, since it was cheap enough, and I plan to roll it once it has ~30 days to expiration to the next 45 days option. Is this strategy good enough? Perhaps you see some better way to do it? Buying long term put and selling even lower puts with earlier expiration perhaps? I thought buying near the money put would be too risky since I would lose too much if it doesn't actually drop before expiration. Thanks!

2025-02-14 16:35:25 +0000 UTCCould I put in a request? Do you have any content on credit spread liquidations? There were these tsla credit spreads that lost people alot of money back in 2021. I heard about it from an old timer on Schwabs late night support. Would love your take on that

2025-02-13 14:47:20 +0000 UTCFWIW, the authoritative source on whether some new quantum thing is hype or scientifically sound is https://scottaaronson.blog/ Just ignore the woke politics nonsense there, his writing is the best you can get for scientifically sound takes on new quantum computing developments.

2025-02-13 03:04:31 +0000 UTCI think sizing this too large would be suicide. Prob a good opportunity for call credit spreads.

2025-02-13 03:01:08 +0000 UTCDo you think any big AI news will influence quantum computing stocks? I would assume all the US AI companies are still scrambling for their next new thing to wash away the sour taste left by deepseek. From Shkreli's post and I don't see any carryover from quantum to AI by the different computation requirements of both, but weirder things influenced bubbles before.
