News From the Six Realms #77 - Spooky Season

Another month, another news post. Things are finally starting to settle down for me, the release was only slightly late due to the move, and there should be no issues for the next one, so everything is looking up.

Moving on to what you care about, the new release is shaping up nicely. After a slight lull in the last release, we will have more goblin content, making at least one person I know very happy. Winter is focusing entirely on that, and if Rein has time after working on mechanics, he will be doing a Tue-San event as well. Hooky is also back on the Fae, working on reintroducing Arzyl and Whitescar into our new plans for the arc. Exagie is working on a new short chain of events for Alexia working the forge job, and then will be switching to developing the Andras (Rowan) NPC arc. Wildquill is continuing to work on chaos incursions, mainly finishing off The Duel event chain, and our newest writer Nyx is also continuing on from his well-received Ophelia event with more events in Alexia's tavern job pool. As usual I will try to get to that Andras scene, but I have to focus on mechanics (see further down), and how long it takes will determine how much time I have to write.

On the art side, all of the work from MDN is now finished, and is in the process of being shared with the backers. Sommy is just putting the final touches on his two CGs, which will be finished in the next day or so. Also, as you can see above, Keidi has finished the sprite for Che-Lin, which I think turned out pretty great, and I am sure a lot of you goblin lovers who shall not be named will feel the same way. :)

Programming-wise, Dragoon, Rein, and I have been hard at work at introducing the functionality to have the chaos incursions occur in specific spots on the map at certain times, which required making the map system more dynamic, as well as adding the necessary UI screen to display them. The framework has now been implemented, and we are at the stage of adding and testing a chaos incursion event, and I am hoping that there will not be any huge issues, and we can introduce this in the next release and make map exploration a bit more exciting.   

That's all for today. I will be posting the poll shortly for those of you who have been waiting for it, but other than that all that is left to say is that the next release will be in the final weekend of next month, as always, which this time is the 27th of November.
