I had seen that altar and the one before the book shelves but normally an altar stands in some form of an apse or at the central point of a building, with enough place for worshippers before or around the altar but here is no space for a mass. And most altars bear some form of religious icons on them, except if they are for blood sacrifices, in which form they are just a slate with channels for the blood. In a non historical sense of sexual offerings on the altar, there still is the case of the missing space for the spectators.

If you look closely, the massive stone bed in the center of the picture appears to be an altar. I agree the bookshelves are a little strange, but everything else looks spot on to me

Although I like the artwork, I am a irritated because that is not what is commonly understood as a sanctum, the inner sacred place within a temple. It rather looks like a the private chamber of a succubus, as there is no clear main altar with enough space for the belivers for any bigger mass. Especially the book shelves look out of place for a sanctum. Even if we take in account that the dark sanctum may be a place of carnal pleasures (because of the succubi and incubi), the typical furniture of such an establishment are absent.
