This week in the Forest! #51
Added 2021-11-10 21:51:33 +0000 UTCOOPS! This was a day late :O! FOr good reason though. my eyes were dialated AS FUCK all day lmao. To those who don't know, I'm in the process of getting ICLs in my eyeballs! It's an internal contact lens :O! The surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday! SCARY, but so fuckin exciting lmao.
Yesterday was the laser prep part. They describe the feeling like "snapping a rubber band on your eyeball" and honestly - yeah it kinda felt like that lmao. A small rubber band tho haha, it wasn't too bad x)
BUT YEAH, Thus, the late TWITF!
Without further ado, let's start with a word from Vixel!
11/8 weekly report:
Heya floofs! No news from me, I spent last week dealing with urgent life and family issues.
A couple weeks ago I put together a bugfix build to address many of the TFOL issues players were sharing on Itch, Discord and the fursites! Last week, it seemed like this build was ready to launch, but Carrot and I ran into a slew of new bugs caused by the code changes - especially around savegames and chapter select! :O We delayed publishing this build until we can be sure the code changes are not going to cause more problems for our players. If you're bumping into an invisible wall when trying to talk to the coyotes, or if there are critters meeting for a date and you can't interact with them, hang tight - a fix is on the way.
I'll be working this week to finish the bugfix build. As soon as that's done, I can focus full attention on the upgrade project which will include a full rewrite of TFOL's bug-prone problem areas, plus other exciting improvements like new debug tools, possible localization support and performance optimizations. Eager to get going on Act 3 story content as well. More soon!

On my side, I've been prepping the Act 3 dialogue stuff! While I'm going through each deciding which portrait to use, I get to find out which areas need new assets, like certain portraits that don't exist - or special one-time visuals.
So I've got a buncha new assets lined up to work on! I'll keep plowing ahead with this stuff so it's fully prepped when our Rewrite is good to go!
I Have been taking things a bit easier while this eye stuff has been going on. They can get easily strained, so I'm just being gentle while this stuff's going on. But I've been truckin' along :>
OK! That's it for us! Sorry for the hold up on that patched Act 2 build! But it's comin!
Comments
Hope your ICL installation goes easily! I've had 'em for 8 years and couldn't believe the incredible clarity versus glasses or contacts. I was photosensitive for a while but it got easier after a few months. If you have trouble with night vision glare Alphagan (brominidine) can help too. Take care! <3
