Developer Update #14

Hello everyone,

The time has come for another developer update. First of all, let's talk about the V5 progress. When it comes to the image portion of the update, I've have only a few scenes left I need to design and render. Still gotta do some Liliett re-design renders and some smaller scenes for Leilah, Mnemosyne and Erelia. Of course, as I'm implementing the scenes into RPGMaker it might turn out that I need a render or a few. My focus is now on developing enemies and quest events. When it comes to the gameplay stuff, the item/skill/merchant overhaul is in its testing stages as you already know. Speaking of merchants, I think it's only fair to introduce the character that has already appeared in the test version: Baroness Ingrid Barrington, an npc that will buy valuable items from the player in exchange for gold coins. She'll only have a small numer of content in V5 compared to the others, but I'll be expanding her arsenal along the way in the future.

She'll be residing in a caravan that will be first introduced in Clearspring Village, but eventually roam the roads. Here's a render of her private remote office.

She's not the only merchant introduced in V5 as players will have a numer of traders to choose from, most of them in the Clearspring Village that will be the Focus of this update.

I'll be doing another iteration of the Gameplay Test that will include the last major gameplay feature for V5 which is Soul Meter. To keep it short and sweet, Soul Meter is a way to measure the player character's corruption/morale during the events of the plot. The Soul Meter affect the player's level after respawn and will provide positive and negative effects depending on its value. The soul value will be affected by the actions of the player in the game. Winning tough battles, completing quests and depositing some of the players current exp can raise the soul level. Being defeated, failing quests or being subjected to more devious scenes will lower the soul level. Mnemosyne and Leilah's content in V5, apart from some exposition will also be tied to lowering (in Mnemosyne's case) or raising it (in Leilah's case).

This time around, apart from the stuff tied to the next update, I wanted to show you a small teaser for the future Obscure Mansion questline. As most of you probably know, as of current plot progression there's a certain vampire that needs our rescue from a cell. Without spoiling any details, Chantrea will eventually regain her freedom and be left to explore the Mansion by herself which will prompt a significant change to her appearance, and that appearance is what I want to share with you today.

I think Chantrea deserved some kind of glow-up after being held in a cell for a long time. Let me know how it turned out :).

Anyways, now I'll leave you all with some teasers for V5.

I hope you have enjoyed this developer update!

Cheers!

They will have corruption meter, however each one of them will be slightly different from one another when it comes to mechanics and yes it will affect their personalities.

damn chantrea looks AMAZING, the only thing i'm not a fan of is that red nail polish, it's just so out of place with such a goth outfit (for me)

For the allies that you have are they all going to have quests tied to corruption level or is it just a tracker for something else? I haven't looked too deeply into that menu, but it seems a good way to add quests to push them between their normal personalities and more domineering ones, depending on quest completion or failure.
