MNL Progress Report #102

Hey there, nudies! Sorry for the later progress report. We were working on a VERY important feature... which you can see above! It took a lot of fiddling on Invertex's part, but we were able to get companions to follow you, starting with this capybara! During certain quests, characters can follow behind you and keep you company! We started with this capybara, but other, more bipedal NPCs will be able to follow you as well utilizing the same code. Though apparently, it was a lot harder to implement this for a four legged creature like this capybara...

Oh, the capybara's name is Ursula, by the way, and she plays a surprisingly big role in the opening! That's actually why we decided to implement her being able to follow Amber around. We're currently in the process of putting together all of our assets and GETTING - THIS - THING - DONE, and we realized it would be more fun if Ursula actually followed you around. I think that's the last tricky little piece of extra programming we'll need to do for this prologue - the rest is all just cutscene building and asset assembly now. We are SCHMOOVIN'.

Though while we put all this together, Bear has been polishing up the foliage of Culo Culo Town. Our trees are currently blobby - stylistically blobby, but still kind of blobby. We wanted to possibly take another crack at them. And Bear came back at us with... this.

A leaf ball.

Interesting, right? It's certainly a nice looking leaf ball, but what the heck are we supposed to do with it? Aren't we supposed to be making trees here? And yes, you're right. So let's take a couple of these, stick them together, add a trunk, aaaand...

BAM! Now that's a cute lil' tree, isn't it?! I was honestly pretty shocked when I saw it come together.

Bear also made a nice cedar tree for a bit more tree variety. Don't worry, no hornet nests will fall from them if you shake them. Also, you can't shake them. I deeply apologize.

And one last extra asset we made...

A clothing donation box! I actually pitched in with this one to put all the text and stickers on it. Hmm, I wonder if this will play into anything later in this nudist adventure game...
