Patreon Improvements Discussion
Added 2020-12-05 21:29:19 +0000 UTCI'm looking to expand upon my Patreon and provide some more benefits to my subscribers. What would you like to see posted more? What are some benefits you'd like to see added?

I've seen early build releases as a common thing among other Patreons, though I'm not too fond of that option. I might try to aim to have some in-game benefits for supporters—additional outfits being the most obvious. The supporter benefits would be Patreon-exclusive until release as I want all the content available for everyone for the full release. I want to try getting into a monthly release schedule starting next year, so I might do end-of-month polls for people to vote on what feature they would like to see prioritized. I might also try to do some more behind-the-scenes content; I'm planning on writing up a retrospective of the past six months later this month.

Other than that, I know a popular option for Patreon is releasing builds early for supporters or making a public version go up a week or two later than the supporter release.
2020-12-06 20:10:09 +0000 UTCI like using Twitter for smaller, incremental updates and I like being open with development so people can see activity. I make most of the discussion public on itch.io as it has the larger audience. What prompted this discussion was me not being sure what to save for Patreon. I have the functionality for in-game Patreon benefits, but I couldn't decide what to lock behind the paywall and I want to avoid alienating non-patrons. Maybe once I get content flowing, I can put in some bonus outfits.
