Gleep Glossary #79 - Admiral Piett

Reading from the New Testament, we learn all about Piett, whose first name is hilariously FIRMUS! Initially the first officer of Vader's Executor, Piett was promoted to Admiral when famous loser, Admiral Ozzel biffed on the hunt for the rebel alliance on Hoth. Piett was given command of the Executor after Ozzel's brutal workplace choke-out. Piett eventually became the Fleet Admiral during the Battle of Endor. He served in that capacity until he ate shit when an A-wing smashed into the bridge of the Executor, killing him instantly and comically.
Also, we recorded this episode back in early May, well before Kenneth Colley, the actor who played Piett in Empire and Jedi, passed away. Kenneth totally kicks ass in those movies and did a great job entertaining us as Admiral Piett. Rest easy, sir!

2025-07-24 14:42:59 +0000 UTCI’m glad Steve mentioned the dark humour of Empire, because there was such fan boy outrage over Vader’s “choke on your aspirations” line in Rogue One because “Vader doesn’t make jokes”. Except one of his best lines in Empire is a joke: “Apology accepted, Captain Needa.” PS No Nexus this month?
