Your partner has that in common with Pam Beesley.

Eliza Oborne

TAINT! TAINT! TAINT! TAINT! MOVING UP AND DOWN AGAIN!

Adam Ray

“Lady with Rage” has been my ear worm for the week

Amanda P

So 28 days, sequel was 28 weeks, why is the next one years and not months lol

Kureigu

Ditto. LOVE that film

TheBestMike

Don't forget how AWESOME Brendan Gleeson is in Lake Placid

TheBestMike

Andrew not to be a stalker but you gave Men 3 1/2 stars and a heart on letterboxd.

Rhea

"Sir, could you please keep your blood in your eye sockets" lmfao that broke me

James Fetterhoff

"I'm going out scrounging. Pray for me" Door closes. Cue the sound of the theme to the movie Delirious and the sound of crisps being eaten.

Adam Ray

I came here to ask the gang "When the hell did y'all first see Braveheart?"

Adam Ray

Regarding the "Guy wakes up in a hospital to the apocalypse" thing, I recommend reading Day of the Triffids.

Sara Syd

Maybe I am misremembering it, however at the end I swear the pilot says that he doesn't see anything when asked, then they say "do you think he saw us". I imagine that the outside world is waiting for the infected to just die out. However I could be misremembering.

DMAC

First movie I paid to see three times in theaters

Jamie

Love the Dr. Who riffs. If you really want to dive deep into that culture before your England trip, check out 1975’s “Genesis of the Daleks” on YouTube.

Michael Nigrey

The fact that they turned the book into a shitty movie instead of a mini-series really annoys me. Damn you, Brad Pitt!

Robert

Last time I checked on Boyle, he was making a Matrix musical. Yikes! Like Steve, I too would instantly kill myself, but then again, chasing Cillian Murphy around for a bite is very appealing.

Eren Keskin

That was great 😆

Jaime Lee Ezell

28 Weeks Later was scary and well shot but that script was trash!

Tala Hobballah

Very scary and well shot but WRITTEN TERRIBLY

Tala Hobballah

One of the best horror romances I'll never stop annoying people with it.

Tala Hobballah

You guys debated the first movie you saw Brendan Gleeson in. It was definitely Braveheart.

Rhys Boyd-Farrell

Christopher Eccleston is also fucking amazing in The Leftovers (which I know you guys have mentioned before and didn't care for)

Vicky I

Since Eric shared his, my personal GTFAFM story: I'd just finished up in the washroom and hit up the pump top bottle of hand sanitizer we had, but a small corner had crusted in just the right way so that it shot a jet of hand sanitizer straight into my eye from a good two feet away. To this day, I still shut my eyes whenever I have to use one of them.

John Edwards

He's good in that finale, but I totally get where you're coming from lol he's just playing himself at some point.

Ray

Yes! He does have range and presence.

Supposing they brought

Chris Eccleston created problems for himself when he quit Doctor Who about 5 episodes into filming Season 1.

Supposing they brought

If you guys like zombie stuff that isn't schlock, I highly recommend the World War Z book. The movie is atrocious and is barely related. The book is written by Max Brooks from the perspective of survivors. The audio book is a full cast. Very good humanistic take on the genre.

Ray

On the topic of hiding zombie bites, one of my favourite quotes: "People who don't return their shopping carts are the same people who would hide a zombie bite. Change my mind"

Emil Svensson

My partner hates horror movies yet saw this in theatres. Why? Because she went to the theatre with her friend with no plan on what they were going to see, saw “28 DAYS Later” was playing and bought tickets. They spent the first 15 minutes wondering when Sandra Bullock was going to show up, before realising it wasn’t the romcom of similar name.

Craig

I know you know this already, but yous guys are so funny

Unicorn Trista

Eric: "We need to do Armed and Dangerous. It'll get like 3 downloads." Well, I'm one of them.

Adam Shreve

“It’s Doctor Who, not Doctor Hwat!”

Robert

Eric: How'd you manage to stay so fat? Andrew's character: "It's been 28 days goddamit! I lost 12 pounds!"

Local Man Loses Pants, Life (LMLPL)

Just about the Bond cum discussion call it Double Hole 7

Jon Wika

If you're into gummies, You've got to try fruit pastels and jelly tots when you're in the UK 😙👌

Ben Formhals

I've owned the rare old blu-ray of this one and it felt like a real treasure during the time it was out of print and not streaming anywhere. It's one of those two-packs that includes 28 Weeks Later, which I believe it might've either Eric or Steve that said it's nearly as good as 28 Days Later - and I very much agree! Really underappreciated.

Busiris

It's a little ironic that I could never really stand Doctor Who in anything but the smallest dose, but Jelly Babies are pretty fantastic. Just make sure they're not the vegetarian ones, which are just Jujubes and they suck.

MarkNM

He'll live.

MarkNM

The irony of this dropping right after all the doctor who news lol

Gary isabelle

I need Andrew to document his snack adventure

Dalton Barrett

So, to explain - Lilt is basically pineapple and grapefruit soda - tango is a brand that makes orange soda (apple tango is nice) and other flavours.

Matthew Lloyd

Eric is on fire this ep

Samuel McGuire

Advice to Eric—when you’re in England, don’t tell the locals that you’ve never watched “Dr. Who.” That’s their “Star Trek over there.

Paul

I personally always found the scene in which Serena gives Hannah pills to try to numb her to her impending sexual assault as the one that really stuck with me. Maybe that's because we women are taught that SA is always a threat. Or maybe it's because SA is still used as warfare. Anyway, I know Eric thought Selena suddenly became a damsel in distress, but I felt she was staying strong, doing the best she could to protect Hannah. The whole scenario with the soldiers just emphasized that survivors of any apocalypse will have as much to fear from fellow survivors as they will any infected.

Rhonda Mccomb

Opinions are like assholes 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ray

I saw Christopher Eccleston in this before I watched doctor who and boy was I surprised. He genuinely has incredible range and presence. As a film study, this movie is incredible, and it embodies the allegories made all the time about zombies. When it comes down to it, we are the monsters.

Ray

I always felt the monkey rescue detracts from the movie. Just open with “28 Days Later” and leave the start mysterious

Rod

Oh, nice! Thanks for the rec. - Andrew

We Hate Movies

Oh, hell yeah. Now we're talkin'! - Andrew

We Hate Movies

I nearly hyperventilated when the guys started talking about Cillian Murphys dick in the style of the 28 years trailer.

Matthew Lloyd

Even though y'all have some BAD takes on Boyle's filmography (everything from 28DY through T2 has been a banger with the exception of Trance which is just weird), this is worth a listen alone JUST for the bits on the voice-over from the 28 Years Later trailer....BLOODY BRILLIANT! 😆

Geoff Gershon

Definitely need to pump that number up. I rewatched A.I. the other day and him playing a robot-torturing carny is enough to make it a Stay Tuned.

profondo robbo

Answer for Steve! You asked if this was the first Brendan Gleeson movie covered by WHM and it's not, it's the 5th: he was in The Raven (the John Cusack as Poe one), The Village, Mission: Impossible 2 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Firementary as well

Felipe Sobreiro

Love the violent femmes reference!!!

Jaime Lee Ezell

I remember the first time I saw this film. It was during my freshman year of college in a film course in 2006. My biggest takeaway was the audible gasp from the girls in my class seeing Cillian’s dong on the screen. I don’t know if the gasp was out of shock or excitement. Since we were all 18-19 year olds, but I am fairly certain that it might have been the first time some saw one on the screen.

TJ Gaines

Andrew when you go to England be on the look out for Pinballs they are amazing. Like a little round candy coated Starburst. Super addictive.

Bible Black

I was crying laughing during the discussion of Brendan Gleeson's mountainous shit pile.

Johnny Collins

This pride month I’m finally willing to say it load and proud, I love Men (2022)!

Bradley Davis

Know what they were doing to those monkeys at the lab—they were pumping them full of Semenax—that’s what created the rage virus. Fact.

Paul

Speaking of UK snack, when you guys get there I highly recommend Jaffa Cakes, the king of UK snack cakes

Aaron Dowler

If is a huge WHM Sin, but there was a comic series that explains how they developed the virus and why.

Matt Watterson

Man, with that scene with Colonel West telling Jim what his plan was - if there was EVER a time to just play it cool and go along to sneak out later that was it.

Matt Watterson

I don’t think I’ve Shazammed as many times during a movie as I did re-watching this. All the music in the movie is fantastic.

RJ Cunningham

ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER

SpayukaTTV

The fact there is no “fuck” in that scene disappointed me to no end

RJ Cunningham

“GETTFAWAYFROMME!”

Paul

I thought we’ve all been on the Gleeson train since Braveheart?

RJ Cunningham

Do yourself a favor and relisten to previous WHM episode of “Yesterday” with this. Great companion episode.

James

I rewatched it a bit ago and I found the opening with the monkey to be pretty silly, but the rest of the movie is great and worth your time IMO. It's important to set the stage and it really couldn't be left out, but in a worse movie I think we would hear more about how the first scene is a little cheesy and dumb

Smaug

You know that irritating splash of coffee you get from a sip lid when you laugh or get distracted, and you improperly disengage? You made me do that.

MarkNM

In my head canon, the "Where’s Your Head At" video by Basement Jaxx is a prequel to 28 Days Later and it all makes sense.

CharlesGrodin'sToupee

Masterpiece? I think I only got through about 15 minutes of this film back when it first came out. Maybe I'll give it a rewatch before listening to the episode

John Locke

Nope. 28 Weeks Later is an absolutely WRETCHED film. I got conned into re-watching after hearing a bunch of people say it was "good actually". Nope nope nope, that movie is garbage!

Comrade Trash Panda

I always thought the RAGE virus part of this was kind of stupid, love the movie, but a zombie infection started by a monkey who got it from watching violence on tv? OK buddy, sure. I get the subtext of what it's about... still dumb though.

Purple Roundy

So why infect chimps with rage? They're pretty pissed off already. Give me a tranq gun and a zoo pass and I can get you an angry chimp by the end of the day.

Michael Daniels

scariest zombies in cinema and it isn't even close

Alex Murica

God I love Brendan Gleeson. Always great in whatever it is he's doing.

Graeme Hill

"Longer than a heartbeat" has to be one of the best endings I've ever seen in a movie

Tim O'

Marty TC (child-sized Cardassian)
