Gleep Glossary: A Star Wars Story #77 - Kueller

In this chapter of our Gleep Glossary, we're learning all about the force-sensitive ne'er-do-well, Kueller!

Reading from the text by Daniel Wallace, we learn all about how Kueller found his look, which can only be referred to as "Skeletor chic." He was also a drop-out of Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy, where he left after less than a year. After finding out his parents were executed on his home planet and displayed in front of the local government facility, he decided to take what he learned about the Force and went straight to the Dark Side. Oh, and his birth name was also "Dolf." Hey, is this Kueller episode actually just a tax write-off? PLUS: Dan Hedaya in Star Wars?

Gleep Glossary: A Star Wars Story is a show where the guys try to honor the history and legacy of Star Wars characters, most of whom we've been told don't matter anymore!

Thank you for being so incredible by continuing to support this weird, wild adventure we're on! You make this all possible! We know you have lots of options when choosing which pods you listen to and we very much appreciate you carving out some time for us!

To drive viewers to newer content. If you're watching an old favorite with middling performance, then you're not watching the new thing that cost them 87 billion dollars to make or license. And fewer viewers who watch the new thing means junior production execs who were involved with the new thing don't get to put big numbers on a slideshow showing that the new thing performed well. Should I watch Willow or the new Marvel (I heard it was nuts)? Now that choice is removed.

The “fine” at 18:17 should find a way onto Darth Eric’s Chest Sound Board

I feel like we're not that far from having a 12 dollar patreon level where Steve reviews Wild Dog comics. 😅

I think playing that clip of a man seriously narrating over the screams of the damned while Steve is quietly giggling in the background is the best use of the soundboard so far. Great episode!

John Edwards

Also seems newer editions of the New Rebellion book don’t have that stellar tagline

RJ Cunningham

Was this recorded prior to the 8mm recording? Having a Kueller-based Heald impression in there woulda been boss

I live in Oregon and smack dab in the middle of town is the Jim Belushi's Animal House dispensary. I've never seen someone profit so much off of the wrong kid dying.

Ray

Just started the episode but I agree with y’all. I don’t get why Disney, WB, Paramount, etc are all deleting their own original content off their own streaming platforms for some reason and as Eric said, you don’t get a tax write off for something that has been released for a while. I need some business major on cocaine to explain to me why they’re doing this.

Lar

Thank you for confirming my long held suspicion that kevlar is actually made from Dan Hedaya’s chest hair

I listened to a Star Wars audiobook a while back and it also had a bunch of John Williams-esque background music and ambient Star Wars noises. Stuff like random storm trooper chatter or wookie yelling anytime Chewbacca was around. I guess Disney or Lucasfilm or whoever figures if they’ve got access to actual Star Wars sounds they might as well use them.

David Shook

I love how the GG is sort of unhinged

Will See

Yes yes yes!!!!! These are some of my absolute faves--fellow Space Battles obsessive, especially the OT and EU. Tall glass of water loaded and prepared to launch! Love you guys so much, best of luck in England; don't forget to wear the blue!!

Zora McBride

Audiobooks that have sound effects and music just sound like the storybook records for little kids from back in the day. Ask a grampie.

MarkNM

"... And Winner for best performance in a dramatic series is... Eric Szyszka in Dumping with Szyszka!"

TDB

I would accept. I'd also accept a plane, a big beautiful plane. - Eric

We Hate Movies
