On this month’s death-defying We ❤️ Movies episode, we’re chatting about one of the best Hunt & Co. adventure to date, Mission: Impossible - Fallout! How outrageous is that helicopter chase scene toward the end? Is there a better bathroom fight in cinema? How many times is Ving seen standing in this film? And don’t forget, this movie is the cause of Mustachegate! PLUS: Andrew recalls why this movie was an awful choice to see in 4DX!
Mission: Impossible - Fallout stars Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Angela Bassett, Michelle Monaghan, Wes Bentley, Frederick Schmidt, Alec Baldwin, Liang Yang, and Vanessa Kirby as The White Widow; directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

Especially after seeing this year's version, I'm bitter Cavill never got to actually play Clark Kent. Idk what they wrote for him but none of it was the character.

Regarding whether Christopher Reeve could do what Cavill does here, he's very good at playing against type in Deathtrap.

"Hey, asshole, there's a nuke that way!" "I know, I don't wanna be a freak in the after-world!" 😂😂 I just finished reading the book Nuclear War: A Scenario, and now my plan for when this inevitably happens is to eat ALL the edibles in my home and then turn on the gas stove, but driving straight at it is also a good idea.

It says a lot about Francis Ford Coppola that Captain EO isn't the most insane thing he ever directed and in fact may not even make the top three.

I feel like Tom Cruise would have a contract clause where if he dies on camera, but they get the shot, they have to use it and release the film.

My only disappointment with this episode was that we didn’t hear more from Vice President Jonathon Davis.

Did they throw buckets of sand at you during the worm riding sequence though?

Yeah I heard that #metoo comment as well. #metoo only makes it more difficult to approach women if you approach them like a total creep and just coast by on your looks.

In regards to Cavill being a piece of shit on the Witcher set i hesrd that basically he was clashing with the writers and producers because he's a huge witcher fan and they were taking a lot of liberties with the story, he wrote the roach death scene himself as the producers wanted it to be more humerous.
Saying that though in an interview he did say me too makes it harder for men to approach women and his then 13 year age gap girlfriend.

Hell yeah, probably my fave MI movie.
Also, I paint my little Warhammer dolls while listening to podcasts. It's cathartic listening to Eric yell about cum in homemade food while painting.

For Andrew, per the intro: many, including myself, have made the argument -- including your fellow co-host, Eric, in the past -- that JASON LIVES is also the Best #6 entry in a franchise over the original film. #justsaying
A delight to listen to this at work earlier today. Thanks, gents!

The thing that always bothered me is that there are like 2,400 people at the party in France. There’s no way skydiving onto the roof was easier or cheaper than ‘getting an invitation to the giant rave’

The reason I like rogue nation so much is because I find it refreshing to see the main villain be caught instead of killed

Yusss, love the MI eps and movies. I can't support the Senators' anti-helicopter agenda though. I can't know how to hear any more about helo crashes. Planes are significantly more likely to crash on an incident per flight hours basis than helicopters. Helos are better able to recover from and compensate for mechanical malfunctions and adverse environmental conditions because of their better maneuverability. Airplanes are generally much more fucked when something interferes with their intended direction of travel.

MI 1-4 is on Pluto TV this month and Ghost Protocol is pretty decent, the second one is meh and not so bad anymore.

Not quite Jeff Daniels in Dumb and Dumber, but that's probably the gold standard.

I'm such a nerd for all the practical work they do in these movies. One of my favorite behind-the-scenes things for this movie was showing the HALO jump. So you have the one camera operator with the film camera and skydiving with Cruise and Cavill, but there's also a 2nd camera operator with the behind-the-scenes camera that is ALSO skydiving but has to stay out of the field of view of the first camera operator, along with a few members of the crew to monitor the dive for safety. It's insane and I love it.

Not that it matters, but solid plutonium is mostly harmless. It gives off Alpha radiation (He nuclei) which are pretty easily stopped by your skin. Plutonium in and of itself is only harmful if you breathe in dust (like from a dirty bomb) where it can give you lung cancer

It doesn't rate much of a mention here but imo Rogue Nation should get a bit more love. That opera house sequence is one of the best set pieces of the entire franchise.

I can't imagine trying to watch a full 2+ hour movie in the 4DX stuff. Universal Studios has their Dreamworks theater that has Kung Fu Panda film they show, but its like 15 minutes, and for 15 minutes its a fun little experience and doesn't feel too long, but even at that length when its over it takes a few minutes to get your footing back walking out of the theater. Expecting people to want to do that for 2+ hours is just insane.

I came to this film series kinda late, I saw a lot of M:I TV series reruns growing up so I really did not like the twist in the first movie and it really soured me on the whole thing. It felt as off tone as if they made a James Bond movie and M turned out to be a traitor. But I did give the series a chance a few years ago and watched through them all, still really didn't like the twist in the first one but once the movies find their footing they really are quote well done action and spy stuff. Just don't understand why Jon Voight's character had to be named Phelps, they could have called the character anything else.

I really enjoy this movie but if I'm being honest....it's just as satisfying to watch it right through the Vanessa Kirby meet in Paris and THEN just skip to right when Ethan starts running in London, it's a fun 70 minutes of engaging action. :)
