Patreon Show Drops for the Week of January 27

Hey folks! We hope you had a totally kick-ass weekend! We've got a massive week coming up, so let's dive right into what's going on in the WHMu:

First up, tomorrow on WHM we're closing out a month of episodes highlighting movies from last year that we wanted to talk about with a convo all about our two favorite Miami cops in Bad Boys: Ride or Die. This film split the group, so it's a wildly hilarious episodes featuring "different opinions on We Hate Movies," so you're not going to want to miss this one. You can catch the episode on here, sans commercials, at the $8 level and up!

Then on Thursday, we're dropping our last Patreon offering of the month in the form of our Star Trek recap show, The Nexus! This month we're talking about the TOSTAS episode "The Survivor," which features a shape-shifting gleep-glop that tries to hijack the Enterprise, and the TNG episode, "Galaxy's Child," which features the most abhorrent depiction of Geordi La Forge in all of Star Trek! They're super-different episodes of Trek and you can hear us gab about both on here at the $8 level and up!

And don't forget two other big things this week: first, today at noon is the return of On-Screen Live where we'll be playing catch-up and talking about some movies that we've seen over the last few weeks! That's today at noon/eastern on our YouTube channel!

Then of course later this week we have our first worldwide digital event of the year where we're going to talk about Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire LIVE on the internet! We go live this Thursday, 1/30 at 9pm/et, but if you can't make it the night-of, don't sweat it! The show will be available for 14 days after broadcast! And don't forget, Patreon subscribers at the $8 and $10 levels get to bundle in their ticket to the After Party Q&A for free! So be sure to snag your tix now and we'll see you on Thursday night!

That's gonna do it for this week, y'al! As always, we thank you so much for being the totally killer Patreon subscribers that you all are, and we hope you enjoy all the shows and have a magnificent week!

Take it easy,
Andrew, Chris, Eric & Steve

Yeah, gimme a carton a Newports

We all enjoy poking fun at poor Geordi in the “Galaxy’s Child” episode, but let’s be honest—if the holodeck were real, most of us would likely find ourselves in a similar situation. That’s why such technology should never come to fruition. Sometimes Star Trek: TNG resembles a Twilight Zone episode. Other times, it resembles a Black Mirror episode—like “Galaxy’s Child.”

Oof, that Geordi one is a hard watch. If anyone is interested, there is a YouTube page (not mine) that has all the TV promos from TNG. Some of them are flat out WILD and have nothing to do with the episode in question. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtEch3qp3h02mPg9OA73oulZsZrrVKAAX&si=YYF1AToubrI4isNe It's my tradition for the last year or so to listen to one of the promos before an episode of the Nexus

Any Wordle dorks around here? Today's (1/27) word seems...WHM-adjacent. 👀

Always looking forward to the Live Online shows, they are a great way to liven up a week in the midst of dreary winter. <3

Do people eat calamari with mustard? And if so, regular or honey? Hopefully these questions and others will be answered in the episode.

I'm looking at that picture from TOSTAS, and I can't tell if I'm more confused by Kirk's rock-hard chest muscles or by the fact that it looks like he's about to squirt mustard on that space squid.

Only Bad Boys movie I care about stars Sean Penn and The Kurgan.
