Sounds like you guys were describing Mad Hatter! Pervert hypnotist

I just saw Colin Farrell speaking in his accent but in the Oz makeup and suit. Fantastic, it really threw me off! Love this show and love TOFTS!!

I always wanted to go out through spontaneous human combustion, so I am with Steve on this one. Flame on!

Spellbinder is kind of a hypothesis

I feel like a lot of us are walking on thin ice with that voice. - Andrew

Not a day goes by where I don't think of that scene from Step By Step. I truly feel validated by you guys today.

Yeah, I'd rather be choked to death instead of riding that bus to California

One other thing I appreciate about this show that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere? LGBT representation in Disney/Marvel: "Hey, these conventionally attractive people of the same sex have shared a chaste kiss! We're the best!" LGBT representation in Warner/DC: "Yeah, we got trans prostitutes in Gotham, deal with it."

Michael Daniels

My wife is ready for this show to end not because of any thoughts on its quality but just so that she can send me a link to a restaurant, show, or whatever and not hear me hit her with the Oz Cobb voice saying, "Ohh, what are we looking at here? Why are you showing me this?" The bit has worn thin on her, needless to say.

In fairness, I think the show makes it very clear he is a piece of shit. He murders a guy for insulting him in the first scene and manipulates pretty much everyone in every scene. Even his support of Vic's stutter is undercut by him getting impatient with him and shouting at him to "spit it out" later that episode. we always knew he was a scumbag. I was rooting for Sofia for most of the show. But the quality of the writing and human nature makes us want him to if not win, not lose.

Nah, I think Oz is just that much of a petty asshole. We were never supposed to like him. He's a lowlife. The genius of the show is that he fooled us all.

Michael Daniels

This episode hit HARD after this week. Rex talking about putting disturbed/socially outcast young men to work for him and a guy gaining power by pretending to be a populist, then fucking over the lower class when he gets what he wants? Yeesh. Pretty spot on. Ultimately though I am impressed how the whole time we were watching Oz fool the crime families of Gotham, he was also fooling us, the audience. The last two episodes show that Oz is a LOT more fucked up than he let on, and we spent 8 episodes cheering for him. Hey, that sounds familiar, too.

Michael Daniels

To be fair to them Gandolfini was so fuckin charming

Winson Paine

I assumed him taking the cash was to make it look like a robbery, but it's never just one thing with Oz, is it? Heartbreaking scene. The image of Vic's ID sinking into the same water that drowned his family is symbolic. It's like the city got him in the end.

Lono's Oboe

My heart sped up as soon as we got to that scene with Oz and Vic by the river. 😖 I knew he had to exit the story somehow, as he was the closest thing Oz had to a conscience and this series was obviously not about 'redeeming' him in any way, but phew, it was even worse than I expected. And even after that, I gasped when he just casually took his cash. (Eric voice) This guy's, uh...no good!

Rose Esposito

Vic's ID sinking into the river really got me. Can't beat the big city kid, Gotham's the another villain in this shit. It either makes you a monster or swallows you alive and that's what happened. I wonder if maybe he'll survive and put on a red hood and start killing gangsters? Like Penguin season 2 is about The Red Hood story but with Penguin in Batman's place? Like they already set up the Jason Todd parallel

G Goldhar

I love that in the end the Penguin is a classic Gotham villain/monster. I know the series got a lot of comparisons to the Sopranos, but even to its end the original creators of that show just couldn't convince a scary amount of people Tony Soprano was *not* a good person to romanticize

Mark

Regarding the question "Is it better to die crispy or soggy?" Maybe it's a better question to ask whether you'd like to come back a Freddy or a Jason.

Busiris

Hooooo I was dreading the comments if yall didn’t mention that final shot 😅

Rod

The "what-the-fucks" per minute of the last 10 minutes or so of this episode was OFF THE CHARTS.

Matt

I'm a fiend for cocktail olives

Eren Keskin

Owls feed their strongest and oldest babies first, and yes, it's not uncommon for those babies to eat each other when the food is scarce.

Thanks for the great season. I really think the Vic arc is what pushed the show to an A rating for me. When Penguin is killing him, there is a shot of Vic's pristine white sneakers digging into the soil and getting dirty. I figured he would either end up as Penguin's no. 2 and get his shit wrecked by Batman later on and maybe show him reconsidering his life as a man dressed as a Bat pounding the life out of you would. Or basically end up how he did. Considering how neatly the show tied up it's loose ends and his character, I think it was a nice capper at the end for people to really realise that that Oz is an amoral sociopath as I can see some people try and rationalise his treatment of his mother as misguided love. Chris put it so well when he described how he kills the men and traps the women in his life. Heavy and awesome stuff if a little hard to watch after the last week
