It's time once again to travel into that magic space ribbon known as The Nexus!
First up on TOSTAS, it's the time traveling, Spock-centric episode, "Yesteryear." Originally airing September 15, 1973, this is the episode where Spock travels back in time (through the same TOS time vortex seen in "The City on the Edge of Forever") to save himself from being killed as a young boy! How funny is it when Kirk says he's going to contact the ship's costume department? How cool is it they got Mark Lenard back to voice Sarek? How horrendous is all this child voice acting? And how quickly does Andrew bring up the A.C. Crispin novel, "Sarek"?
Then, across the galaxy on TNG, it's the incredibly silly episode, "Data's Day." First hitting the airwaves back on January 5, 1991, this episode has Data interfering in Chief O'Brien's wedding to Keiko Ishikawa, a possibly crooked Vulcan giving Data attitude, Beverly trying to do an autopsy on a pile of goop, Data obnoxiously narrating the whole episode as a log entry to a scientist friend, and our first look at the bridge going in and out of "Night Mode"!
The Nexus is a WHM podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support our family of shows—we couldn't do it without you! We know you have lots of options for pods and we're super-stoked you chose to spend some time with us—thanks again!
