My husband knows Andy Mengle and I've met him a few times, which has always added an extra layer of comedy to the Gleep Glossary for me. He's super nice and I bet he'd come on the podcast to talk Star Wars if you wanted.

He did complain about Lucas not paying him enough for that, and about how the EU creators have been screwed over. The guy who created the idea that Mandalorians don't take of their helmets was from a comic, and he was pissed the creator didn't get a dime from Disney.

I've heard apocryphally that Lucas despised Mara Jade behind the scenes, so I wouldn't be surprised if he snuck some "no Mara Jade" rider into the Disney contract. Also, I know you were just joking about it, but a special episode with Andy on the horn would be amazing. There's got to be a ton of juicy inside baseball about what it was like working for Lucasfilm back in the day.
