Episode #712: Silent Night Deadly Night

“All this, over the treatment of a magic cookie-eater!” - Chris on Santa Claus-related outrage

On this week’s holly-jolly horror-tinged episode, we’re chatting about the totally kick-ass Christmas slasher, Silent Night Deadly Night! Why couldn’t they have bothered to actually name the psychiatric institute in this movie? Were there zero dollars set aside for background extras? How despicable is this Mother Superior? And major LOL to that priest assassination at the end. PLUS: Remember to NEVER stop for a Santa Claus or a Dracula on the side of the road!

Silent Night Deadly Night stars Robert Brian Wilson, Lilyan Chauvin, Britt Leach, Toni Nero, Leo Geter, Randy Stumpf, Will Hare, Tara Buckman, Geoff Hansen, and Linnea Quigley as Denise; directed by Charles E. Sellier Jr.

Episode #712: Silent Night Deadly Night

Comments

I know he’s kidding and I get why he says it but Man Utah has a lot more stuff. We have just as much stuff and now we’re not all Mormons. You can’t tell I am from Utah. I get kidding and I totally was laughing at the jokes too, but I just don’t want anyone to get confused. Utah has a lot and I’ve had the privilege of a lot of places there’s only a few places I would live over here.

This movie and maniac cop are the two movies that I can rewatch once a year at least one for memorial Day and one for Christmas

Sergio Rozo

“Warm Side of The Door” is off the 1996 album “Call I Borrow a Feeling?”.

Michael Patrick

It's always Christmas on the warm side of the door...?? Seriously, that song is about Hell right?

Hard To Gwil

I unofficially count this as a welcome return of A Side Order of Sleaze.

Patrick Fowlow

Whenever Steve's not in an episode, the guys kind of just go off the rails and I love it so much.

Ray

And a Mormon.

MarkNM

Bill Paxton is the only actor to be killed by a Predator, Terminator, & a Xenomorph.

Christian Waters

This movie was a holiday tradition for me and my Ex-wife. Pulled it off the No-Watch list for y’all.

James Gibson

See this is what you get without Steve. Not only did we miss out on Loomis voice but he coulda told ya all about the Defenstrator from those DC hitman comics

G Goldhar

I liked Eric's Feel Good Inc laugh towards the end there

Rhea

RIP Andre Braugher 😢

Paul

My goodness, I feel a little bad at how hard I laughed at Eric's childhood stories. But, I have also felt the sting of a wooden spoon. Wielded by my Italian mother. I think she felt bad afterward.

Paul DeCoursey-Clark

Those song are killer. Warm Side of the Door is fantastic, but Slay Rider is my personal fave.

LOL. It's all so stupid. - Andrew

We Hate Movies

Great minds thinking alike and all that, RJ! - Andrew

We Hate Movies

I'm def jealous! - Andrew

We Hate Movies

I still very much remember the local news reports about this film and the controversy surrounding it. Back in Reagan's America, it usually took two guys kissing or Brando whipping out the butter to trigger outrage. But give a movie killer a Santy suit? We must protect the children!

MarkNM

My brother rented this when it first came out on VHS and would chase me around the house bellowing "PUNISH."

MarkNM

Holiday Classic.

Frank Grimes

Let out an audible “wow” to Andrew describing the sled murder scene, comparing Billy to the “Toasty!” guy from Mortal Kombat. I had the exact same thought. Also Billy’s battle scream “NAUGHTY” reminds me of the Scorpion “get over here line.” You can see the threads of inspiration for the game series

RJ Cunningham

I had the Jabba the Hutt playset. It came with a hookah pipe you could stick in Jabba’s mouth and of course you had your Salacious Crumb

Andrew Dean

One of the more shocking moments was realizing “the bullies were really only after those sleds?”

RJ Cunningham

This was certainly an episode I was very much looking forward to, especially for discussion of that Warm Side of the Door song/montage and you guys delivered with gusto. ✨

Busiris

PUNISH! PUNISH! PUNISH!!!!!!!!
