The Mandalorian Half-Hour - Chapter 17: The Apostate

CAUTION: SPOILERS ABOUND (OBVIOUSLY)

On an all-new episode of The Mandalorian Half-Hour, the guys return for the season three premiere eager to talk about anything besides The Book of Boba Fett!

In “Chapter 17: The Apostate,” the gang is stoked to see their favorite blaster-slinging space cowboy return, but they're ultimately left wondering where this is all going. How great is that entire cold open? Does each Mandalorian get to pick their own helmet color? And how rad were all the various puppets?! PLUS: Greef Karga needs to invest in some exterminators for Nevarro because that Salacious B. Crumb tree infestation is looking pretty serious!

The Mandalorian Half-Hour is a WHM show where the guys recap every episode of the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian! Thank you for continuing to be a loyal Patreon subscriber. We couldn't do it without you!

Comments

Lol. This comment was clearly not read by Dave Filoni when he was doing Asshoka.

John Locke

That theme song is amazing!

Lynne Olson

something about Star Wars content always takes the WHM cast from fun into straight up kinda mad? idk, it sounds more exhausting than snarky. I don't think Andor feeling like proper prestige TV even helped, but even the recap of that on last months Gleep had a bite to it that kinda felt very weary. The theme's great, though.

G Goldhar

That theme slaps! Well done, #DJHandbrake

Leesha Olivier

Carl Weathers at 75 years old bending over on his knees to talk into the Babu Frik Anzella hut is an action sequence

Tristan

Cute and catchy becomes twee and annoying right quick.

Adam Lewis

Holy shot the hole in the sheet sketch.

FiddlersGreenDay

It would be nice if Bo comes back as a villain but I’ll go on record that she’ll end up as Carl Weathers’ new Marshall

Kevin Lynch

That theme slaps. I hope I can reinvest in this series the way I used to. I felt the same way before Stranger Things 4 and that ended up being incredible so I'm hopeful. Really looking forward to these discussions every week though. Maybe the guys can round out every Mando Halfhour ep with a quick two minute discussion of the multitudes contained within the complex character of Luthen from Andor just in case Mando provides more meh material.

Alexander Farr

New theme is great. I always thought the whm theme would work really well in the style of the TOS theme for the Nexus but I’m lacking in musical knowhow to do it.

andy

“Oh shit we broke the voice chip. Now he sounds like Jeff Nichols”

Andrew Dean

Holy shit, what a theme!!

Christopher W Baiocchi

They should have had IG-88's long lost brother show up, the same droid but with a goatee like Flexo.

Jason Young

Oh shit now I’m actually listening and you guys point out the video game stuff.

imipolexGforce

Also new theme = 👍

imipolexGforce

I’m slightly worried about it becoming a video game plot. “Go here and get the object to out in the thing so the thing can help you get the relic that you need to enter the other things so you can do the last thing.”

imipolexGforce

Boy, that Taika Waititi certainly wore out his good will, didn't he?

Michael Daniels

All those Kowakian monkey lizards staring at people from the tree was easily the most unsettling thing I’ve ever seen in Star Wars. I liked that place better when they were eating those fuckers.

Slappy White

He said he found the crystal with the Jawas. He had been on Tattooine during Book of Boba Fett, so I'm fine with that part of it.

Travis Brown

Save the Space Whales!

Gabryel Steinmetz

Way too short. Space whales hinting at Jedi Ezra Bridger from rebels and Thrawn. Too short of an episode IMO. Not much achieved.

Glenn

Space whales. Ya know, some things should just stay in the toon world.
