The darth bane trilogy is my favourite set of books from the now legends stories. The rule of two makes sense if you read the first book. Though after banes apprentice the info I've seen shows that none of the sith after banes time really followed the rule of two the way it was intended. Also bane was cut in the books, he originally came from a mining planet and was a big guy.
