Animation Damnation - Gargoyles "Enter Macbeth"

It's our monthly cartoon chat show! This month, we're talking about the totally great '90s cartoon, Gargoyles!

The episode in question, "Enter Macbeth," originally aired back on January 6, 1995, and introduces famed Islamophobe, John Rhys-Davies, doing a Sean Connery impression to portray the sinister (and titular) gargoyle hunter, Macbeth!

What's with the wild gun violence on the 'Previously On...' segment? How hilarious is this dog-goyle named, Bronx, eh, Steve? Did Macbeth date Demona back in the day? And did the Ninja Turtle guys have a case here? PLUS: Macbeth laughs at Goliath getting caught in NYC traffic!

Thanks so much for being so awesome and supporting We Hate Movies on Patreon! Please be sure to spread the word! Your support is what keeps this operation going!

Isn't Macbeth supposed to be the *actual* Scottish king from Shakespeare's play, who somehow became immortal? Other Shakespeare characters also appear in the series, such as the fairy folk from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream", Titania, Oberon, and Puck.

John King

A whole episode full of Connery impressions and talking about the dog being named Bronx and not one “named after the dog!” reference was surprising.

Gone

Macbeth and Demona LITERALLY end up legally married. So your jokes aren’t so far off base.

Nicole Lechuga

Given the Cabin Family's love and encyclopedic knowledge of Zoo, it's not shocking that Chris is the one to call the kibosh on the beastiality claims

Jason

The Demona and Macbeth fucking jokes are extra funny if you're a fan and know what happens to them

Jenny Ibrahim

Goliath and the human were the blueprint back in the day! Kindle Unlimited has been overtaken by monster/human romances.

Tala Hobballah

watch the previous ep. please

Ajax

Gargalos

Hard To Gwil

This ep makes me want to go back and revisit the show.

"Did Macbeth date Demona back in the day?" Kinda! I kinda wish they had waited until WLM Month to talk about Gargoyles so they could do the "Awakening" pilot. It was edited into a VHS feature.

Justine Prudhomme

This whole was practically a Next Generation reunion show - eventually Dorn and Spiner show up as voice actors too.

Chris Walton

I should be ashamed to say this but there were a lot more Shakespeare references and characters (specifically Midsummer Nights Dream characters)

Everett

Breaking: Goliath removed from Gargoyles after sexual misconduct.

Eren Keskin

This is gonna be a good one. One of the few 90s tools I'd wish you guys would make another side show for
