The Podcast of Boba Fett #1 - "Stranger in a Strange Land"
Added 2022-01-02 19:23:08 +0000 UTC
On the premiere of our new Star Wars recap show, The Podcast of Boba Fett, we're chatting about the mostly underwhelming debut episode of the latest trip into the galaxy far, far away, The Book of Boba Fett! Why did they have to have all the flashbacks instead of some nice, chronological storytelling? What was with all the bad prop sand? Are we really going to see one of the galaxy's coldest villains turn into, sigh, a hero? And why does everything look so cheap? PLUS: Who among us wouldn't sleep in a Bacta tank every night if given the chance?
The Podcast of Boba Fett is the latest WHM TV recap show where the guys chat about each and every episode of The Book of Boba Fett. Thanks so much for your continued, TOP. TIER. Patreon support. This one's for you!
"OF COURSE YOU TORTURE YOURE A CRIME BOSS" yea good point. that's probably high on the checklist of requirements to be a crime lord

OC native here. That droid cameo was the pilot on Star Tours for many years, which is funny since the droid would always start the ride by saying it was his first time flying. Disneyland re-vamped Star Tours a few years ago and got rid of the droid. I believe the ride alternates now, but I’ve only been on it once since it was updated. It’s super fun.

Sometimes I forget that not all my Podcast are on the same wave length. “What is Star Tours?” blew me away because Star Tours is a stone cold classic Disney ride. I’m waiting for the Podcast: The Ride guys to talk about this episode because they love that little droid.

I never thought I would see the day where Star Wars fatigue has finally set in for me but turns out this show finally did it. Rise of Blah Ugh Why and Mando's showcase of backdoor pilots had started to sour me on this universe and a show where the premise is 'Boba Fett without the compelling stuff' is not going to bring me back. I'm going to reread the original Thrawn trilogy after 20+ years, listen to the guys goof on this show, and maybe check out Obi-Wan when it drops.

Since it was brought up, here’s the 1987 Star Tours video press kit: https://youtu.be/nypYMw5qSO8

The only thing I really enjoyed about the episode was Fett's helmet getting filled with New Republic coins. It's basically a 'fuck you' gesture since they're worth about the same as Chuck-E-Cheese tokens on Tatooine.

I’m still waiting for The Book of Boba Fettuccine. It’s about a bounty hunter opening a fledgling fresh pasta restaurant during harsh times. No? Okay.
