Point of note: The Criterion Collection is not available in the UK. Not sure about other countries but the UK is a pretty fucking big market.

Eh, I didn’t feel the ‘TPS reports’ was too different then Leia suggesting to Han about the Falcon ‘Would it help if I got out and pushed?’ where she’s clearly referring to an automobile; but I get some people’s problem with it.

Kahless

I share a lot of the concerns echoed in this episode, save one: how could anyone not want to see the further adventures of Benoit Blanc? I couldn’t possibly want anything more after seeing Knives Out!

Bob Goodrich

The brown trooper armor was in Rogue One! They are called "Shoretroopers" and were first introduced in one of the post-Disney video games.

ConverseSC .

Man I'm in the opposite camp here. I thought this episode was awesome and I thought the previous Rob Rodriguez ep was really weak. For someone who "knows how to film a shootout," Rodriguez sure likes it when a bunch of dumbasses (Troopers, Ming-Na, and Mando) stand around getting shot at outside of cover and silly plot contrivances like Mando just not picking up his jetpack and completely sidestepping the major conflict of Baby Yoda getting kidnapped. One of the weakest eps of the series for me. I'll take Bill Burr murderfacing a cruel Imperial officer over an Inglorious table scene and this cool SW Mad Max (he went Under The Wheels) any day over Rodriguez's episode. Boba Fett was the only thing worth a shit in that previous episode

So I'm a new Patron and can't seem to find the answer so... Are the bonus episodes (like these Mandalorian reviews) not included in the Patron RSS feed?

spanio

I actually loved the back-in-forth at the end of this recording. It's great that the guys get along most of the time, but it's also fun to see a solid disagreement. Of course, they also expressed themselves more coherently than The Orange One did during his yelling debates....

Dominic Kovell

Who in the galaxy hasn't seen Mando with that helmet off?

Tristan

Knives Out is far better than any of the Star Wars new trilogy or the promise of one. Glad Rian Johnson is doing something not star wars related. Seems like there will be way too much SW coming soon. Bluh

Clint Rivas

I have not seen Wages of Fear but I watched Sorcerer early this year for the first time. All I could think of was the episode of Little House on the Prairie I saw as a kid that clearly ripped it off (or paid homage) with the nitroglycerin jars :) Same again watching mando last night.

Math Gannon

1000% agree with Chris on the ending. The boys talked about the ending of last weeks episode being clunky, but this phone call was way worse IMO

Kyle MacLunkey

The juggernaut driver armor is the tank crew armor from Rogue One repainted. I mainly know this because I have the Lego set of the Imperial tank.

Blake Rea

With Mando wearing the imperial uniform and helmet I was surprised to not hear any mention of stolen valour in this ep 😆

Robin Fry

I agree with Chris. There's no way Mando would show his hand, or indeed his vulnerability, to Gideon. I'm pretty sure he's read The Art of War. 😁

Maggie0401

Go ahead and make that two huge losers, please. 😁

Chris M.

All I know is I cheered when Fett deployed the seismic charge because I’m a huge loser

Vicky I

Personally I love the Boba Fett dress. Don’t know why but I do! Loving the content, boys.

Rod

I liked this episode. The guys didn't like it as much. Both those opinions are valid. It's okay to like or not like a Mando!

Scmods

I have to hand it to you guys - I have absolutely no idea which episodes you are going to like! I loved this episode, the frog episode, and was Luke warm on the one with all the blue mandalorians and the squid people

Jules O'D

Thought we mentioned it last week?

We Hate Movies

How about Jerry Seinfeld as Mayfield. “What’s the deal with the blue food, people?”

Bob Dobbs

Bill Burr was excellent.

James

Most people I’ve talked to think this was the best episode of the season, and I do as well. There was a lot of character development and the performances were well-directed. Bill Burr acted the hell out of his face during that imperial officer’s praise of fascism. I was genuinely surprised it wasn’t mentioned on the show. It seems like the WHM guys have some unique set of buttons (don’t like Bill Burr, must wear helmets, no reference or homage to even obscure stuff most have never seen), and this episode just happened to push all of them. Sorry you guys didn’t enjoy it, and now I gotta get my ass to McDonalds.

Scott Farmer

Chris' complaints about the episode sharing plot points with Wages of Fear (et al) reminds me of cranky old Boomers complaining how Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars weren't so great because they're just a bunch of retreaded ideas from old Republic serials.

fastandsloppy

No.

We Hate Movies

The talk of characters dying and staying dead and no mention of Fennec. We saw Fennec get shot dead and yet here she is again, like nothing happened.

Jake Kroker

I actually enjoyed this episode more than last week's.. We're actually diving into some interesting territory with the main character and I agree with the guys about the Iron Man parallels. Season 3 he'll lose his armor or it'll be taken from him and the entire season is 'who are you without your armor?' Also cautiously optimistic about some of these Star Wars stories that we're going to see. I had very low expectations for the Mandalorian but it's a blast even when it's a middling episode. I'm curious about the Ahsoka show having never seen any of the cartoon stuff and Patty Jenkins is a great director so I'm on board for whatever she ends up putting out. Excited for next week!

Alexander Farr

If we’re going to start getting on Star Wars or even just Mando for stealing shit from other properties, we’re gonna be here a while.

Flex

The whining over him taking his helmet off is hilarious. Get over it boys.

Flex

Yeah, no idea what Sorcerer or Wages of Fear are. They're on my list now though. Love a good perilous truck adventure. I don't think it's a problem they're drawing from these sources. Maybe if that Obi-Wan show has him forced into building a bridge for the Empire, it doesn't seem like a big deal so far. Also I thought for sure Eric was exaggerating how much he hated seeing the Mandalorians taking off their helmets, but I guess he's super serious? Weird hill to die on, but I suppose we all have our own.

Ben Matthews

I know of it, but I've never seen it.

Bill Williams

Knew it was familiar, thank you! —Eric

We Hate Movies

I like that they wear those influences on their sleeve. I always hope that it encourages people to seek out those films.

Bethany C

I disagree with Chris' take on people getting the references. I mentioned it reminded me of Sorcerer and very few of my friends got it. After the Ahsoka episode I saw someone saying it reminded them of Kurosawa, but they had not seen a Kurosawa film. They only knew it from clips and stuff. Even Lone Wolf & Cub is obscure to most. They may have heard of it, but I only have a few friends that have actually seen any of the films. I hope The Mandalorian continues with the references and that people will discover some classics from it.

Bill Williams

I consider myself decently knowledgeable about movies and I’ve never even heard of The Wages of Fear

Kristian Binder

No Grogu this episode, that means next episode Darth Grogu. Also why hasn't Yoplait paid Disney to make Grogu be the face of their Go-Gurt line of products? At least the lemon-lime flavor.

Jeremy Thomas

The trooper armor that was asked about is a recolor of the Tank Trooper armor as seen in Rogue One in the Jedha City skirmish.

Vio Darc

The gun Burr used to destroy the base was the Tusken Raider rifle Fett took/was given to by the Raiders.

Solid episode of “The Mandalorian”. Excellent acting from Pedro Pascal and his co-stars. Bill Burr stole the show. “The Believer” is a well-directed and action-packed episode.

Paul

The operation cinder stuff is pretty cool. It’s shown in Battlefront 2 like Eric said, and there are some really cool missions revolving around stopping it.

PlutoniumTorch

Found a copy of tremors screamer Island at target the other day.

Scott Ferris

The Richard Brake erasure in this episode is CRIMINAL!

PlutoniumTorch

A Don Post shoutout in the year of our Lord 2020!

Matt

Sorry, but Bill Burr took me out of every scene he was in. Still some cool moments and special effects. Bring on the finale!
