On this week's re-cap, the guys are more-or-less thrilled by "Chapter 13: The Jedi"! Written and directed by Dave Filoni, this episode features the debut of Ahsoka Tano, the episode's titular Jedi, played by the always-great Rosario Dawson! And it's also the debut of Baby Yoda's name—Jefferson! We also get some solid-ish time with Michael Biehn (not nearly enough) and some most excellent lightsaber v. beskar spear fight choreography! PLUS: "Michael Biehn" ascends to the next level at the NYCC!

Not just for the fact that you got Michael Biehn running around with his shotgun, that he keeps around for close encounters. It's also got ahsoka picking off the guys in the alleyways one by one. She even does rising up from the bottom of frame behind unsuspecting victims.

It makes life easy for the prosthetics and makeup people, so you get to play aliens more often. That's basically how I got that gig, the Borg gig, and what would have been a recurring alien gig on Orville had it not been for the pandemic....and the show getting cancelled. I offered to forgo getting paid for a day (or donate the check to a charity of their choice) in exchange for one of the awesome Mandalorian Season 2 hoodies the crew was wearing, but that was a no-go. If they ask me back for season three I'll put in a good word <3

2020-11-30 00:06:02 +0000 UTCBased on Eric's comments at the end, he's rereading the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy. Funny enough, I'm doing the same thing for the first time in ~20 years. Those books are such an interesting mix of bad/repetitive writing and really unique character concepts.

2020-11-29 18:16:17 +0000 UTCYeah I agree with a lot of the reservations the guys have. Last season I liked that there was more stories related to bounty hunting and had smaller stakes. This season seems more like disney is trying to bring more viewers to older and weaker properties by teasing cartoon characters with potential future stories in the Mandalorian. However, you keep showing me sequences like the opening and I'm on board for whatever. I will still refuse to watch the Clone Wars. Oh and anyone else think that the smile Ahsoka shares with Grogu at the end was because this test at the temple she's sending them to is actually for Mando? She's not worried how Grogu will turn out but she is worried how he'll turn out with Mando as his mentor... Or something. Maybe we'll get some darkside visions for Mando next week.
