Episode 511 - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2

On this month's spook2cularly exclusive WLM episode, the gang has a spirited chat about the totally bonkers, but always wild ride, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2! How great is Dennis Hopper here? Why couldn't we see those preppy turds crash that car? And is this Texas town really that serious about their meat? PLUS: Eric expresses his love for soulless, workplace potlucks!

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 stars Dennis Hopper, Caroline Williams, Bill Moseley, Jim Siedow, Lou Perryman, and Bill Johnson as "Leatherface;" directed by the late, great Tobe Hooper.

The Sawyers would never work for a Trump. Not since they got stiffed on that catering bill.

I remember hearing about Lou Perryman’s murder 😞 Apparently the murderer was off his medication at the time and the motive was robbery. Found this segment in the Austin-American Statesmen: “Authorities said that Tatum came upon Perryman's house in South Austin by chance after he had attacked his mother's ex-boyfriend with garden shears and an iron fireplace poker earlier in the day on April 1, 2009. Tatum told police he killed Perryman, 67, for his car, prosecutor Judy Shipway said.” He eventually got life in prison. So fucked. RIP Lou Perryman.

More Potluck!

Edward Kennington

I just watched "TCM Part 2" for the first time yesterday. It's great! I enjoyed this episode very much :)

Beatrix

I want to point out the movie takes place during the OU v Texas weekend, not OSU. That's only important because having seen the film for the first time it accurately portrays the absolute shitheads that flock to the DFW area for the game and the recognizable yet entirely forgettable landscape of North Central Texas. Love the episode!

If you know beans about Texas chili, you know Texas chili ain’t got no beans

Patrick W Bears

“Did he get nominated for.....?” “Sexy dad?”

Mike Miller

Agree, I found Salem super dull

Smaug

Man, I'm on the other end of the spectrum with Lords of Salem. I watched it years ago at WHM's suggestion...that movie is boring as balls. Maybe I'm due for a rewatch

Smaug

I made shirts for you guys way back in 2016, I might have to watch this movie a few more times to check out that KOKLA design...

Vicky I

The boys are going to have a conversation about The Conversation. #WLM

Paul

Oklahoma University not Oklahoma state :v but it doesn’t matter lmao

Jacob

I'm pretty sure the human puppet from the beginning is supposed to be the Hitchhiker from the first film! Pretty badass! Thanks for this as always guys!!

Zane Magers

Space Truckers was produced by the father of friend of the podcast Griffin Newman.

Anthony Simon

idk I figured the pay episodes were explicitly for office potluck stories and could use more of them

Alex Cercone

Oh! And the chili looks like meat gravy because true Texas chili doesn't have beans. It's some weird Texas thing. 🤷‍♀️

Agree that Lords Of Salem is the only watchable Robert Zombie movie.

Leesha Olivier

Oklahoma State, not Ohio State

Charles Dainoff

You guys “like don’t love” this movie, but Lords of Salem is “excellent”? You might want to rewatch that one. I agree it’s Zombie’s best, but that ain’t saying much and it’s certainly not “excellent.” BTW, Stretch rules!

Mark Bisi

You guys convinced me to buy the [AWESOME] soundtrack to this on vinyl. It was THIS film that introduced me to The Cramps as a kid!

Paul Heidtman

I feel like Rob Zombie's entire filmography can be summed up as "still mad hs Adams Family lunchbox got made fun of."

Matt Quintanilla

You know another Dennis Hopper movie from around this time that's a WLM (for me at least)?: Red Rock West

Felipe Sobreiro

The Conversation would make my month.

Believe the text crawl in the opening narration was done by the late Percy Rodriguez. Leatherface here was played here by the stuntman who played Jason Voorhees in "Roy: The Movie": Tom Morga🙉
