Over on TOS, it's "The Alternative Factor," which originally aired March 30th, 1967. In this episode, we're shown such enticing things like cheap psychedelic imagery, a horrendous deteriorating mustache, and a man who falls off not one, but two cliffs!
Then over on TNG, it's "Where Silence Has Lease," which originally aired November 26th, 1988. On this classic episode, we're shown a giant blank spot in space that the Enterprise gets stuck spinning its tires in, Dr. Pulaski doing a stupid dance move on the bridge, and Picard casually getting ready to go to hell tonight!
