The thing about the rouge one vader bit is that despite how overpowering he is the movements are all small and measured so it matches up with the lightsabre fight in this one in tone.

2018-12-13 19:28:38 +0000 UTCSo much is talked about already but one thing you guys didn't mention but I'm sure has been mentioned plenty of other places is how stupid it is that the official robes of the Jedi order happen to be bedouin-style robes Kenobi is wearing in the desert. It changes the meeting from "Luke meets old man who is trying to blend in to his surroundings" to "Luke meets old man still wearing his military/religious uniform 20 years after he quit." And you guys should definitely read Dune, the sequels veer into crazy-town pretty quickly, but the original is an interesting twist on the hero's journey story that Lucas very clearly borrowed pieces from without really borrowing much in the way of themes.

Amazing episode I loved the almost 3 hour episode and honestly lost my shit when you guys talked about ObiWan scaring the shit out of pilots into their own demise. Love the podcast. We hate/love movies is the best. Please don't change.

People always look at me funny when I say Star Wars is my favorite Star Wars movie but I enjoy being petty. Listening to the werewolf story right now and losing it. Also, when you guys got on the 'neckbeards complaining about Rey' bit, I got to wondering: why does JJ Abrams get relatively little hate compared to others? I have to admit i don't like how Rey's character arced out in TFA but that's a problem I have with most of Abrams's films, Kirk in the first Kelvin film was ridiculous.
