The Nexus 24 - "Space Seed" / "Skin of Evil"

On this month's trip into the Nexus, the gang is chatting about two monumental episodes of Trek! First, on TOS, it's finally time to cover the first meeting with Khan in "Space Seed"! Originally airing February 16th, 1967, this episode features Kirk being a shitty boss, everyone but Spock admiring a murderous dictator, and Khan's amazing wig! PLUS: Bones McCoy absolutely loves the 1990s!

Then over on TNG, the crew of the Enterprise says, "Vaya con Dios," to Tasha Yar on, "Skin of Evil"! Originally airing April 23rd, 1988, this episode features an angry oil monster, Riker getting slimed, and Dr. Crusher doing her best to revive a clearly dead person! PLUS: Picard and the crew prank Worf on his birthday!

The Nexus is a We Hate Movies podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek seriesat the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support our Patreon! You all make it worth it! Cover art by Felipe Sobreiro.

Three years late, but the white washing talk about Khan reminded me how people today talk about Napoleon or Genghis Khan.

First time listening to this. Burst out laughing when Steve mentioned Kawhi Leonard ending up in Toronto 😂 (and leading them to their 2019 NBA championship win).

No way, when they told me about the plasty chest I was heartbroken, but this has brought new hope. You saved a life today.

Russell Snyder

Under the hoop.

Montalban was indeed very ripped and into bodybuilding, even in the 80s he was one of those old dudes that worked out, a lot of people think his chest in Wrath of Khan was fake but nope, they were old man muscles indeed.

This is when I first realized that Steve is an under the radar basketball fan

No Beastie Boys Intergalactic reference? I think Spock would be surprised to find out they new about him in 98.

This week’s Irishman is... Lt O’Hura?

Bravo, gentlemen! Was looking forward to this one and was not disappointed.
