The episode in question, "The Rise and Fall of the Superfriends," originally aired December 23rd, 1978. Perfect Christmas fare, this episode features all the things you want in a superhero cartoon: Jimmy Cagney-themed gangster robots, a villain who's more concerned about making a great movie than killing his enemies, and our comic book heroes literally being sucked into celluloid film!
