The Nexus 07 - "Civil Defense / Threshold"
Added 2017-03-15 04:46:35 +0000 UTCOn this trip into the Nexus, the gang takes a break from the TOS/TNG track to tackle some listener requested episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager! First up, the DS9 episode, "Civil Defense." Originally airing on November 7th, 1994, this boring bottle episode features characters locked in vents, locked in command centers, and even locked in offices! What a scream!
Then over on Voyager, we're talking about the disgusting, "Threshold." Originally airing on January 29, 1996, this has to be the grossest episode of Voyager, as you get to watch Tom Paris and Captain Janeway evolve into salamander people and mate, only to have Chakotay beam them back aboard Voyager and leave the offspring for dead on a deserted planet!

Dukat's creepy obsession with Kira does lead to several v good episodes, including Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night, which involves her mother's time as Dukat's occupation era "comfort woman " and his attempt to manipulate her into coparenting his daughter.

In The Pale Moonlight, Duet, The Way of The Warrior, Little Green Men. All phenomenal episodes. Even Voyager has aged really well having watched 4 seasons of bloody Discovery.

There are some stinker episodes, to be sure, but there are really great performances and deep character arcs. As far as kids on these shows, Jake Sisko is actually not bad, especially compared to Wesley Crusher. And I gotta hear you guys talk more about Gul Dukat as the character unfolds.

Why such a bad song?!? Poor Enterprise, the theme song was an early warning about how "good" that series would be. I wish Scott Bakula got a better shot at being Captain...
