Listening to this in 2025, it's weird that Eric was waxing lyrical about AI when I know him to be such a misanthrope today. Andrew was right on the money and Eric was being naive as heck. As long as we're stuck with a capitalist system, there will absolutely not be any possibility for you to pursue your passions when AI takes your job, because like Andrew said, what's your income? The savings that companies can make from replacing workers with AI is never ever going to "trickle down" to support the people who were replaced so that they can live lives if leisure, as long as we're stuck with a system where growth and profits are paramount.

I will stand by that Scream TV series. Best show! Highly recommend. Especially season 1.

There was a Robocop cartoon?

How can you hate robots if you can have sex with them?

Is Clarence Boddicker also a Christ figure, though? "And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them: Bitches, leave."

I'm surprised there was never a Terminator cartoon

They did the development work for a cartoon based on the movie Aliens. The tie-in toys were released, but the show itself was sensibly knocked on the head.

Other 'R' rated properties that became cartoons include Toxic Avenger, Rambo, Swamp Thing and Police Academy. I can't remember the rest.

If Bogus Burger is hiring, I think Mr. Egg may be looking for work after that... unfortunate business at Clown Dog.

@Jesse Whitehead - We know. Robocop is the ultimate Jesus story. I think the OCP procedure even takes three days to recover from! (J/K) - AJ

We Hate Movies

You guys joke, but Murphy really is meant to be a Christ figure. Verhoeven frequently talks about how many of his movies are secret Christologies. Verhoeven is a member of the Jesus Seminar, a collection mostly of scholars devoted to reconstructing the historical Jesus. Verhoeven wrote a whole book about it, titled simply "Jesus Of Nazareth."

Love it. As a kid in the 80's all the cartoons based on R rated movies are weird. Robocop Alpha Commando is also wretched.
