iOS Price Increase & Billing Change (New Patrons only)
Added 2024-08-21 09:30:18 +0000 UTCJust a note that due to Apple being Apple joining via iOS will be more expensive than via the web or Android devices. This is due to Apple forcing Patreon to use their payment system and charging 30%. Regardless of if you think that's fair, the end result is that I have to push the cost onto iOS signups because I can't justify absorbing the cost myself at this point in time.
New members will also be billed monthly from the date you sign up instead of at the start of the month. This is probably more familiar and better for you guys, but it does make things more difficult from my side. This is also due to Apple as they don't support any other billing method so Patreon is forcing the change site wide.
I can wait until November 2025, but I can't see the point I will forget and it'll cause a panic then so I've just gone ahead and forced the change now.
TLDR: If you are a current member you don't need to worry. If you want to sign up, please try to do so on the web or via android so you don't get hit with 30% markup. Billing for new members will now be monthly from your signup date. I don't believe current members billing date will change.
