The Legend of Vox Machina | S2 E7-12

Comments

Hey with regards to you saying no one involved in the show will see this... Travis for sure actively watches reactions, and I know Matt has shared some of his favorite reactions, so you never know!

WAIT I am sorry I will be giving more comments but in the USA you are allowed to have Adds for OZEMPIC?!!! I am... Deeply concerned about the USA Ok Back to the 4 hour lovely video! I checked Hambones post and wanted to add a few extra fun facts Episode 7: - The bird at the beginning of the episode was modeled after Matts and Marisha's pet Parrot... who had sadly died when they finished this episode. It gave them a very big laugh.

I don't know if it's just me but these episodes felt more like 3 sets of 2 than vice versa.

I can't wait for season 3! Great as always!

It's very funny that you keep bringing up Champion in regards to Pathfinder, because it both applies and doesn't. The specific Pathfinder connection is unintentional, because PF's Champion class was still called Paladin in first edition, and second edition didn't release until a few years after C1 ended. In the context of the universe, a god's "champion" is their chosen servant, the avatar of their will on the mortal plane since they're no longer allowed to act directly. It's never directly stated in the show but Pike is the Everlight's champion, and now Vax is the Matron's. HOWEVER, there is a funny connection in that after taking the Deathwalker's Ward and becoming champion, Vax did in fact multiclass as a Paladin, the class that in Pathfinder would become Champion.

The Killbox is straight up my favorite fight scene in the entire show, it's just straight peak from the start to finish.

The irony of Liam O'brien, who took the Lucky feat as Vax, and who played a halfling who rerolls ones in c3, saying "i don't believe in luck" is honestly hilarious. I had to pause and cackle out loud when Vax dropped that line.

Leaving one last comment to say how much I've adored your reactions to this show. As a Critter, being able to introduce friends to this amazing group and story through the animated series is a joy, since most people don't have the time to spend 4ish hours a week watching the actual play (and thousands and thousands of hours if you go back and watch the previous campaigns). I cannot wait to see what you think of s3, and the M9 (you have not, in fact, seen the last of the mysterious "Garmeelie" figure). I joined your patreon a couple of days ago because I couldn't wait after seeing your last YouTube upload...not sure what I'm going to do now I'm caught up!

One of the classic Sam moves is that when he got Mythcarver, Matt didn't tell him what it actually did, damage-wise, and he never cast Identify to find out. So, throughout the entire campaign, he never used the sword *as* a sword, because why would he? He's not a stabby kill-kill guy, (He's extremely hard core when it comes to making any of his character's actions be as itrue to his character as possible.) So when the day came, iirc at the end of the campaign, when all hope was lost, and he finally used the sword as a gd weapon, it turned out to have these massive offensive powers. Everybody was 1) blown away and 2) even MORE irritated with Sam for not using it like that earlier, which pleased him to no end.

To my understanding, Critical Roll was involved throughout the creative process, so I think that the decision to give the goliaths hair was intentional for visual character diversity; they kept the hair minimal likely to respect the original hairless goliaths, but decided to include hair for better visual recognition of the different, mostly bald, characters

The important thing for Grog's beard belt is that it's a belt of dwarvenkind. 50% chance of growing a beard or a thicker beard along with advantage in persuasion check with dwarves, con increases by 2, darkvision, and resistance/advantage for poison. Technically, a goliath in DnD would not grow a beard because you have to be capable of it. It clues in the audience into what the item is and Grog is so simple that he only cares about the beard and probably didn't notice the other stuff. I've had a couple of characters gleefully become bearded ladies because sex does not factor into the belt I'm also guessing the animators might not have known that none of them should have hair because I don't think Critical Roll would have had art of anyone besides Grog to give them from his clan. Your average character designer would naturally think to add different hairstyles to differentiate charaters
