2022-08-03 21:25:36 +0000 UTCJust because this came up today with a friend (arguing about what Santa will do when the North Pole melts away; yes, we are weird), I’ll add in that there is some evidence that horses and their closer relatives aren’t strictly herbivores and in fact are much more in the omnivorous category, but lack the correct teeth to fully accommodate more than occasional/chance meat snacks. Horses systems are built more for the omnivore strategy too, given the upper teeth to help grind up meat and the lack of full ruminant diet access that most other animals have. Overall, great video! Loved it! And thanks for the rec for more Curiosity Stream and Nebula content. I am very glad I got those services last year. They have been a good source of calming learning.
