This month, my posts on X and Patreon have been a bit sparse.

I’m sorry about that. So, what have I been up to...?

I’ve started experimenting with AnimateDiff. (I know, I might be a bit late to the party.) But exploring new technology is always so much fun!

I feel like working on videos is starting to push the limits of my VRAM.

It might be time to graduate from my RTX 3060 Ti (8GB).

Originally, I bought this PC for work, and it just so happened to have a 3060 Ti. When I found out it could run Stable Diffusion, that’s how I started with AI generation.

This 3060 Ti has been with me through thick and thin, but when it comes to creating animations, it takes about 10 minutes to render just 2 seconds.

It seems that online services seem to be the mainstream for AI generation these days, and they seem to have access to VRAM that individuals can never afford.

It is hard to say that they are upwardly compatible, though, as there seems to be a need to pay for the service and there are some limitations on prompts.

From now on, I intend to mainly deliver animations created with AnimateDiff.

I may post less frequently due to the adverse effects.

I don't know if I will be able to do it well since I am in the process of trial and error more than ever, but I would like to upgrade the VRAM with the amount of your support when I get to the point where I am ready.

And I have an important announcement regarding the membership.

Since starting it this January, I’ve decided to make some changes for the new year:

・The current $3 tier will grant access to this month’s content and the past two months.

・The current $5 tier will grant access to this month’s content, the past three months, and the early 2024 content from January to March (202401–202403).

・A new $20 tier will be introduced.

・The new $20 tier will provide access to all posts.

I’m sorry to say, but this is a nerf. The intention behind these changes is to place some limitations for new members.

While I’m grateful for short-term support as well, I’m especially thankful to those who have supported me over the long term.

For a while now, I’ve been thinking that offering the same benefits to new members and long-term supporters didn’t feel quite right.

I’ve been providing posts in ZIP format as well, so for those who are already members, I believe saving the content now should prevent any issues. However, I apologize for the inconvenience of losing access to the comment sections, and I hope for your understanding.

This also ties into the idea of planning my activities on a yearly basis. However, AI generation is still in its early stages and evolving rapidly.

It’s entirely possible that someone could suddenly and easily surpass what I’m currently doing, making my work obsolete in an instant. (As a fan of AI advancements, that would honestly make me happy, though.)

It has only been a year, but it is very hard to keep anything going. I think again.

I don’t know how long I’ll be able to continue, but I would be truly grateful for your support along the way.

Access permissions are scheduled to be updated around the 28th of this month.

I will post the same information on X later.
