Amisra Copperguard: Zeal Aspect [Poll 3]
Added 2020-10-03 15:01:01 +0000 UTCHello again everybody. We're in a bit of a dry spell right now so I appreciate you all hanging on until I start getting more Spellheart content out. I'm still hard at work on the series but the work I've done thus far is not stuff that's particularly interesting to read in isolation. I've rewritten a number of key scenes, including the climax at the end. That's going well, though going through the whole manuscript to make sure everything is consistent with the changes definitely takes a lot of time.
I'd hoped to have a copy in the hands of beta readers by today, but it's looking like I'll need to push that back until next weekend so I can get the points system closer towards what I want it to be in the finished copy of the book. Regardless of what I do, it's definitely starting to look like the final version of the novel is going to be bigger, not smaller. Other than that, I'm trying to settle on a title for this book so I can hurry up and commission the cover art for eventual publication.
I've also started writing that Sam and Dean short story, although it doesn't quite feel like a story yet, more like a scene in isolation. I think I'll hang onto it a bit longer before I start posting it because it just doesn't have a story-like feel yet. Hopefully you'll see the first part of that on Wednesday so we're not just doing poll stuff.
More stuff is in the works! I'm just trying to fit it all in as efficiently as possible. I took on some extra temporary work through the friend of a friend and that kind of threw the later half of my week off.
So without further ado, let's get to today's poll.
On Wednesday, you chose Amisra's backstory. All that's going into her character bio. Choice A was a firm winner by a long margin, so that's now her official backstory. Amisra led quite the adventurous life before meeting Theo, and this backstory does intersect with a few other notable characters. We'll have to wait and see how Amisra gets along with Baroness Jynna, and especially the Spirelords of Bronzeridge. Most of them are pretty old and the spirelord who was indirectly responsible for the death of Amisra's family might still be around...
But today the palace guard captain we know and love is intent on putting criminals behind bars. To do that, she needs magic.
Just picking an element doesn't seem exciting enough on my end, so I'm going to add an in-story caveat to each choice based on what power you choose. After this we'll have one of the polls a lot of you have been waiting for: choosing her arsenal of spells!
