OC Stuff + Barley Doodle

This past week I've been getting rid of a ton of stuff and I found my old laptop from like 11 years ago back when I was starting to learn to draw. I got a ton of old art and projects off of it before I tossed it, and I found the plans for a game I wanted to make back when I had hopes and delusions of grandeur. It was basically a farm sim with a roguelike component in an rpg fantasy setting with a magic system and whimsy and all that.

Anyway, I want to work on fleshing out the world just for fun and I spent a day doing some quick sketches on these three characters. All the characters are named after a fruit, vegetable, spice, or other cooking ingredient (Burdock like the root, Artie -> artichoke, Clive -> Clove).

Artie's the main character, a farmer who moves into a remote startup town that's right on the edge of the wilds, Burdock's a quiet easy-going guy who owns the neighboring farm, and Clive is a mage who works at his parent's bakery, where he uses magic to bake and decorate pastries. Burdock and Clive would have both been romanceable characters for the player!

I'll keep adding to the roster eventually, since I do have an entire cast and world mapped out, and it'll be fun to build on it all when I get the chance.

I used to be super into sprite art, and I dusted off the old pixel art program and tried my hand at it again too!

Last thing I guess, Clive's original design is my very first OC that I ever drew! He looked very different back in the day and his name used to be Pierce lmao. Whatever my 16 year old brain was into 😭 Exclusive peak at baby Egg's art:

He's now a 24 year old beefcake cutie pie with a big chest 😌
