Feedback needed + changes next month!

It's been a hot minute since I put out a feedback form, plus I have some changes I want to make, so your input would be appreciated! Link to survey below, entirely anonymous!

Alright, so I have a wall of text about some thoughts and changes if you'd like to read through it. Lately I've been having a lot of anxiety regarding my character picks for Patreon every month, to the point that it's developed into pretty bad art block and unhappiness with the way I draw. I'll explain why exactly in a bit, but first, the changes next month:

Changes to the $3/$6 suggestion box:

Changes to the $12 suggestions box:

I'm still planning changes to the poll, if any, and I'll explain those on next month's polls if they do end up happening.

There are no changes to the number of pieces I put out every month.

Up until now I've sort of treated my Patreon as a place to take requests, and I felt like there was an expectation that eventually a person's request would be fulfilled at some point (mostly an expectation I put on myself). There are now so many of you that it's not really possible for that to happen, which makes picking characters difficult for me. The stress of making the "right" picks has been stressing me out a lot each month, so I want to approach suggestions moreso as something that helps me gauge people's interest about the kind of content they want to see instead.

Overall, I want to reset expectations about suggestions. While I will still pick characters that interest me regardless of popularity, I don't want there to be an expectation that eventually a suggestion will get drawn. I get the occasional feedback that people are frustrated that their suggestion doesn't get picked, so I try and make sure I'm picking new things. I have actively avoided picking things I enjoy because I thought it was unfair to people with suggestions they've had for a few months as a result. Other times I get feedback that the characters I draw are too varied and people just don't know who they are or have interest in them. I can't continue to hold myself to trying to satisfy everyone, so if you like the fandoms I consistently draw for and have an interest in, you'll probably see your suggestions more often. I will continue to pick characters that interest me either directly or in the poll of course.

I think my best work is when I'm enjoying the characters/concept and not trying to meet a self-imposed quota / mentality, so I'm going to try doing just that in the coming months. I've already started experimenting with new brushes, trying to add new elements to my art style, and generally loosen up. I'd like to work on original content at some point, too, but maybe that's further down the line. Anyway, sorry for the giant wall of text! I know 99% of you are fine with everything and don't expect the kind of things I've described. It's mostly a thing I've been doing to myself haha

Cheers!

Thank you Jarrod! I really appreciate it 😊 The sentiment has been overwhelmingly positive, and I do feel a little silly for stressing so much about it lol. I'm glad though!

Thank you! All things I need to hear, because I think it's easy to get caught up in the "this is my job" part of running a Patreon. I'm glad you guys are so interested in my art for itself and for me as an artist!

i get this, and you're the creator! if YOU can't get into a character, why should you draw them? it just won't have the same level of care that others would, and that's a lot of pressure on yourself that you don't need to place in the first place. these aren't commissions, so you really don't have to do something specific if you really don't want to. I enjoy what you draw and you've introduced me to games I didn't know existed, which is another thing I love about you. I know I'm part of the people throwing in niche suggestions, but even if I don't get picked or submitted into the polls, me personally: I'm content with your artwork with whoever YOU CHOOSE to draw! : )

PurpleAries

I'm one of the 99% that's totally happy with what you do. In the end, I'm always satisfied with what you choose to draw because the art is good. Admittedly, I don't always know the characters and feel a little ho-hum from time-to-time, but then you draw them so well and sexy I actually am into it. So, I'm sorry you're putting pressure on yourself. I think it's great to realign expectations (though I never expected my suggestions to 'eventually' get used). Even so, I wholeheartedly support you following your heart and drawing what inspires you!

Jarrod

Thank you! I do hope I can narrow down the fandoms I draw for just a little, since part of trying to get to everyone's suggestions was spreading out repeats of the same character 4 - 6 months apart. I'll still draw the variety, but I won't make myself shelve an idea for half a year if it's something that interests me haha

Eggipus

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words! I do enjoy what I draw, I just get caught up on making sure people actually see their suggestions, which isn't always easy.

Eggipus

Speaking for myself and I'm sure many other I pledge for your art style and your poses and the way you draw muscles and cum faces. The character choice is not the major part of it for me. Plus I have learned about so many hot men and fun games by first seeing them as a character you draw. I like that aspect of your fanbase being so varied. I hope these changes help you enjoy the process more but we will love the work regardless!

Regardless of whether I’m familiar with the characters or series, I love all of your creations! 😍 You have such a great eye for interesting (and titillating) poses and composition, and I appreciate the diversity of body types as well πŸ’›πŸ™ŒπŸΌ So keep doing what speaks to you, cause that makes the best art 😊

Of course! Not a lotta people have the same struggles so it's nice to hear u also get the "sorry i never drew your suggestion there literally a million" blues. The people who enjoy your art will understand and support when they can and trust your process!!!!

I feel that! It's a huge weight when I can't get to a suggestion, like I'm disappointing them or wasting their time. I'm hoping toning it down and making changes to them will alleviate the frustration of submitting something every month too. I really appreciate the comment Gooey! I admire the things you've got going and what you're accomplishing!

Eggipus

Had the same issue with suggestion boxes, it's hard when you know someone has been suggesting someone for months but it's just not a character you can really get into drawing or just too niche to please everyone. I toned down the suggestion boxes this year and it's been night and day how much more motivated I've been!! Also with your work, a good piece is a good piece even if I dont know the characters haha.
