2025-06-12 14:34:32 +0000 UTCMy opinion on Porsche's character is that because of how little control he's had his entire life, he takes it back in any form that he can. All he had to do to protect and provide for his brother was take the job. There was nothing saying he actually had to be good at it or care about it. And other that being a little miffed when people pointed out he wasn't doing very well; he doesn't care about it at all. He also makes it a point several times to show that he hates it. Even when he's bored out of his mind with Khun, he doesn't actually put effort into training or getting back to Kinn, he just convinces Khun to do stuff that he considers fun. He doesn't start actually caring and trying to improve until Khun's comment of Kinn thinking he'd fail in a real mission. It's definitely a mix of boredom and spite, but I feel like hearing someone who he's looked at as kind of disgusting his whole life look down on him was the real kick in the ass to make him show that the only reason he wasn't excelling was because he didn't want to. Thier's also the fact that at the start he doesn't really give a shit about protecting Kinn. It's more obvious in the novel but he just sees Kinn as some mafia dick, the same type that makes his life hell on the daily. He helps him the first time because he was getting paid to, and after that he only takes the job for his brother. He doesn't really care about protecting Kinn or put effort into it (ya know, not getting drunk on the job lol) until Kinn protects him in the meeting and they have that talk, and he starts seeing Kinn as more of a person. Alot of people hate on Porsche for not taking his job more seriously in the first couple episodes but like, image being strong armed into protecting the type of person that you've had to worry about attacking you and your family your entire life. I wouldn't really care about protecting him either lmao. Also okay this part is a minor spoiler, but it's really only for the novel as they don't actually explain it in the show. It's really more of a like hey, watch out for these things that are really stubble, and here is the back story that make them make sense, that isn't shown in the show. But on that note if you'd rather go completely blind, I totally get that, just skip the next paragraph. Okay so Kinns two rich friends, Tae and Time. Their dating obviously but you kind of missed it in this episode where their dancing and Time leans behind Tae and grabs on to Porsche's friends' shoulder and like gives him a look and their also cuddled up together on the couch. Okay honestly, I changed my mind that's all I'm going to mention here, and I'll give you the rest of the context (It's not that much more but still lol) on a future video. Anyway, just like pay attention to their interactions and conversations and if you've got time re watch their scenes in the first few episodes. Anyway, sorry for how long this is lol, as you can tell I love analyzing this series and these characters. Don't feel obligated to read all that, despite the word count I don't actually know what I'm talking about, that's just my random opinion on some stuff and my friends don't watch the show so I info dumped on someone who'd actually understand the words. Can not promise I won't do it again tho. Omg also do you know that meme that's like 'what character are you defending like this?' and its you vs like 100 people? Def me with Porsche
