Mr. Korn, when he says he's finally got the last piece, he's referring to Porsche, and he's holding the Queen. In chess, each piece has a certain specific way that that it can move, but the Queen can move in any way she wants and is the most powerful piece and her main job is to protect the King, Kinn, at all costs. The Italians at the beginning, Mr. Don and crew, are speaking their broken English because it's the language they have in common with the Thai mafia...it's the language of commerce. And I don't think they were trying to kill Kinn during that action sequence...they wanted to beat him up and humiliate him to show that Kinn isn't all that great.

2025-04-20 01:55:21 +0000 UTCKinnPorsche is a show I have threatened to watch for a while, but always shied away from because I was afraid it would be too much. However, now that you’re watching it, I have a good excuse to see it. And I generally enjoyed the first episode, which does have pretty high production values. I suspect it may have had a higher budget than your average GMMTV series (though some of them look really good as well). I certainly found Porsche’s character more intriguing than Kinn, who seemed a bit one note to me (though further episodes could prove me wrong). I particularly liked the scenes between Porsche and his brother; I think the reason he writes the note saying that he won’t be able to be in touch for various reasons is that he doesn’t want his brother to know he’s working for a mafia guy. And I unexpectedly recognized a couple of actors who I’ve seen in GMMTV series, including the one who plays the gambling-addicted uncle (he played the employee who told Pat and Pran the true story of their families’ feud in Bad Buddy). It’s also interesting that one of the directors of the series also played Uncle Tong in Bad Buddy.
