(!Important!) Major Patreon reward changes.
Added 2015-12-06 23:35:54 +0000 UTCHi guys. First thing I want to say is, thank you so much for all your support these past two years. Whether you've been here since I started in spring of 2014, or just hopped on, I genuinely and truly appreciate your patronage, as it's been an enormous help in making a living for myself.
The thing is though, I'm reaching a point of massive, unhealthy stress. Some of you may have noticed these past few months I've been anxious, stressed and fatigued. For a while, I wasn't really sure where the stress was coming from, but after some talks with close friends, and taking a close hard look at my patreon, I think a major source of it lies in the way I set up this patreon.
Put simply, though these current reward tiers, I am SEVERELY underselling myself. It was my intention from the beginning to offer good deals on art through my rewards, but as they exist now, I've put myself in a situation where compared to my normal, non-patreon rates, I'm making far less per hour than I should be for this amount of monthly work. The $15 tier is potentially worth over $50 by my normal rates, and the content I create in the $100 tier surpasses $250 total. That's simply not healthy for me. I'm working hours for well under minimum wage, and between patron rewards and non-patreon commission work, I hardly have time for my own work, the work that this patreon was MEANT to fund in the first place.
For this reason, starting the first of January, I'm proposing a complete re-haul to the $15+ tiers. The idea here is that I will still be offering art as a reward, at discounted deals compared to my non-patreon rates. But with these new prices, I hope that the work to income ratio will be more fair, and result in more time that I can put towards original content for you all to enjoy. I'll also be adding access to the final PSD files as an additional patron exclusive.
$15=sketch stream access, 1 character max. 5% discount. voting rights. PSD files.
$30=sketch stream access, 2 character max. 5% discount. voting rights. PSD files.
$50= sketch stream access, 3 character max. 10% discount. voting rights. PSD files.
$65= 1 monthly ink request, 2 char max. (no stream request). 10% discount. voting rights. PSD files.
$110= 1 monthly cel shaded request. 2 char max. (no stream request). 10% discount. voting rights. PSD files.
$50= stream sketch, 2 character max. OC designed every 5 months 10% discount.
voting rights. PSD files.
$80=sketch stream access, 2 character max. 1 monthly sketch request, 2 character max. OC designed every 6 months. 10% discount. voting rights. PSD files.
$100= stream sketch, 3 character max. OC designed every 3 months 15% discount.
voting rights. PSD files.
I'd greatly appreciate your feedback and opinions on these, as I will not be putting them into place until near the end of the month. Additionally, do not feel bad if you decide to downgrade your pledge, or even leave my patreon. While obviously I'd love for as many of you to stick around as possible, this is such a huge change that I'm fully aware that it will not leave everyone in a place where theyre 100% happy, and I don't want anyone to feel guilted into pledging more than they feel they want or can.
Once again, I appreciate your support of my artwork thus far, and I hope I can earn your support for more time to come!

Your art's worth is up to you not us! If you think it's worth more than it is now than it is! Hope you feel better and I hope life goes well!

2015-12-07 02:29:23 +0000 UTCSounds perfectly fair and reasonable dude! I'm sorry you've been dealing with such awful, crappy feelings and burnout, and I hope that things start looking up for you on that front! In the meantime, I'm gonna go ahead and bump up to $15.

2015-12-06 23:56:31 +0000 UTCall seems fair to me. artists put in a lot of time per piece so a price increase for such fine work is perfectly ok by me.
