Princess of the Void - quick opinion poll while I outline volume 3 [spoilers]

And probably spoilers for the future of Princess of the Void as well, although it’s nothing you haven’t already guessed.
Okay so! We've got a free Grant, but he's still not content. His next big goal is in sight. He wants little blue babies.
My intention is to continue the story, and the romance between him and Sykora, through that whole biz. As in: not kids during the epilogue but having part of the story be having a family and learning how to be a good dad (in SPAAAACE).
This would be an additional element that would balance alongside the pre-existing ones of Grant and Sykora's continuing romance and adventure—not something that would take over the story like a certain other franchise about blue cat aliens i could mention, JAMES*. As Tikani already detailed, Taiikari kids are in many ways less of a hassle, and their upbringing will leave plenty of room for additional space adventures and banging a little blue MILF. But I'm excited about the possibilities that a family grants Grant (lol) in terms of continued character growth and another angle from which to examine the Taiikari Empire.
So, dear patron. My question to you. Of the below pacing options, which seems ideal to you?

I'll be honest, reading this for some reason I kept thinking he might not even get re-encoded and somehow they'd manage to make babies through some funky cosmic coincidence of genetics. Sweet little blue babies that inherit Grant's baseline inability to be compelled!

As much as I want kid's ASAP, it would make sense for him to build a reputation with the Empress before she changes something so fundamental.

2025-03-20 01:59:42 +0000 UTCI feel like in order for the empress to allowed something that’s been presented as a core part of the whole “Princess of the Void” standing, Grant needs to build up a lot of recognition. (Save a planet, save the Empress’ life, etc.) I don’t think that’s something that can be believably accomplished in a single book-length arc.
