I am totally incapacitated and endlessly uncomfortable in my body today and have spent the day writhing around and waiting for That One Long Sleep. So it’s safe to say I am super pleased to check my emails in the abyss and see that I have won the Juror’s Choice Award for the Black and White 2024 exhibition at the Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis. The show opening is tonight if you wanna go in my place and accept my award. I’m seriously super surprised and basking in this hard because this was NOT a fine / figurative / nude art show. So it’s a lot harder to be have your work acknowledged at a show like this becusse all the other non nude photographers are more likely to think nude = porn and also generally are annoyed at the idea of such work using sex/nudity/the feminine form to add appeal to an image. There’s more gooder ways to say that and maybe I’ll try again another time. I didn’t think they would accept me and when they did I reviewed the other work and mine was the only nude art photo in the whole lot! So it’s really fucking awesome that the juror then picked my photo out of the contestants on top of that. An archival museum quality print will be on display in their gallery for whatever those dates are that are listed above.
And with that I think I’ll live for at least one more day.
So here’s the photo a third time and I hope that you look at it with the same about of awe and attention that you have the other times too ok bye (but like end of post bye not forever bye).

And, I think the fact that none of the supposed ‘naughty bits’ that are often seen in fine art nude photography are visible. Instead, it is the fantastic definition in your legs, arms and back, and the fucking impossible pose that you somehow were able to get into while taking self-portraits. This image is beyond pure badassery! And it should be featured in the Met and the Lourve and all of the other galleries that think they are something special!
